I can't believe we had that ref in charge while Stu Dickinson was running touch... ... what was SANZAR thinking... ... Sharpie was well pissed off as he should be... as he asked the ref in the final minutes "why would we collapse the scrum on our feed (when 5m from the try line)"... it beggars belief...

Mind you I have not shouted so loud in ages and am hoarse still - probably will be for days and just recover in time for next weeks match...

Heard on the replay today that Scott Staniforths japanese team has gone bust... ... we have to keep him... c'mon Mitch sign him up now for the rest of the season... loved seeing his try up close (right in front of us)!!!!

No take - didn't notice it! Although if it was Dicko that called it, I'd be inclined to err on the side of ignoring it...

That said, it is often the case that an apparent obstruction as seen from the touch line might not actually be a obstruction if you're closer to the play. If the "obstruction" prevented the defending team from tackling the ball carrier then it needs pinging. Sometimes the depth perception from the touch line will allow for such a call that needs ignoring.

Welcome along Leanne, would certainly be a timely good news story to have Stanners sign before his "last" match next week.
Surely the powers that be, including the "life after Rugby" options, can come together to make an offer neither party can refuse, he has Force heart and soul that money can't buy and Coaches can't coach.

Question - are the physio's and water runners allowed to give information to the assistant refs on player welfare during the game?

On Saturday night in the last 10 - 15 mins, just before the Force had an attacking scrum 15 meters out the, blond Tahs Physio lady in the bright Orange bib, tells the SA assistant Ref Laurens Van.... that Matt H had blood - Laurens straight on the radio to Jayco - time off, Matt H off, Phil Waugh has plenty of time to get his pack together to sort things out. Scrum not good and Force on the back foot - so are they allowed to do this in what appeared to be a delibrate attempt to slow or stop the game or are they supposed to stay quite and let the refs do the job. Next she, could be giving advice on forward passes, penalties grounding. Oh she then spent the next several mins around the in goal area where she could easily talk / guide the team with instructions from the box...!!

Shouldn't a medic/physio be concerned about player injuries? If there's blood on anyone, wouldn't that be a concern to players, refs, team management?

I would have thought that to be the case, but is there a Law covering it Ecky?
Would you listen to anyone calling blood from the sideline and pursue it or just keep it in mind and keep an eye out?

I would listen to anyone from the team management group.

I would stop time if it were a Premier Grade (or any other with injury time allowed) and have a look.

If no stoppage time I'd still have a look, but it's be much quicker dealt with.
