I'd like to bring up my impression of a #10 option for the Western Force, after watching the Reds vs Tarts on Saturday night, I reckon we should give a bucket load to Mike Harris. remember we still have that marque development player contract and coin in our back pockets.
I know the commentators think Quade Cooper is the best thing since Steve Larkham or themselves. but he's my thought and comparison with both.
Cooper (Positives)
Reading the game
Flashy, but could also be a negative
Possible game breaker, but only if forwards are playing well.
Cooper Negatives
Kicking is poor, both goal kicking and in games
Doesnt play well when forwards are rolling the ball up
Pressure to perform
Being a winger in defence
A HUGE NEGATIVE IS HIS DEFENCE
VS
Harris (Positives)
Goal Kicking
Reading the Play
Attacking the line
Positioning around the field
Defence
Harris Negatives
Not Cooper
Not a Winger or Fullback - where QLD have him
Partnership with Genia, only build over time..
In my eyes when "the Golden Child of FoxSports Commentary team" comes back, I cant see Harris being overally excited about moving back to wing or fullback or even on the pine. Why not sign him during the midseason international break in this years competition (okay pay QLD compensation if need be) or even make enquiries for next year. I feel he is a player who can take us to the next level,Nothing against Chucky but in my eyes he is a number 9 or at least a backup #10 at S15 comptition.
Like to hear your thoughts....
we tried to get Harris a couple of years ago;he decided to go to the Reds
by the way Chucky is a #10,he converted to halfback for super rugby
A 10 with initiative might just solve some of our attacking issues
We tried to get Harris in 2010. He said he was hanging out to join the Blues. Blues stuck with McAlister and Brett (fat lot of good that did them) and the Reds came in quick to grab him. Particularly clever of them.
Anyway, there are plenty of good options for a new 10 but the key is to get in quick before they re-sign with their current province. We also have to pay them what they are worth. A 10 for Queensland isn't worth as much as a 10 for the Force because they have three or four guys who could slot in there without too much disruption (Cooper, Harris, Lucas and Lance).
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Generally speaking you aren’t learning much if your lips are moving!!!
Watching the Tahds game, I'd have to say Harris is ripe for the picking. He's ready to start at 10 and won't see that ever in the same team as Quade. I don't think we'd have a snowball's of getting him this year, so my money would be for a 12 who can play ten as the development buy this year and throw a truckload at Harris for next year.

The problem is that QC is off contract and may not stay in union so a vacancy at 10 might open up after all. It would be worth making a bid for Cooper if he was willing to sign a two or three year deal.

The Rebels will be shopping for a 10 for next season too, with a big cheque book.
“Everyone knows whether it’s rugby, politics or whatever, front-rowers should rule the world, so to have a hooker at the helm makes sense,” Nathan Charles Western Force & Wallabies Hooker.
The Rebels probably won't shop for a new 10. They'll probably look to move Beale or O'Connor into 10. I was under the impression Beale signed with the Rebels mostly on the back of the promise that he would play 10. O'Connor might be sniffing it out too after Deans played him there in the last couple of Tests. I definitely wouldn't mind having James Hilgendorf back from the Rebs.
The two big targets will be the Brumbies and the Reds. The Brumbies have three decent playmakers and the Reds have four and Dallan Murphy would be ready for a step up.

Bring back Jimmy!
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
Give this guy Seymour a go.... gee we dont want to wait until the end of the season or until injury to Stannard give m a go I say and get Sheps to goal kick I say
When will the force learn throwing money at someone isnt the solution..
How many $millions have been spent on recruiting 5/8's to the Force and how much do you have to show for it..
