Rugby WA needs to have more vision.
A great article in The Australian today about the French obsession with scrummaging. They got engineers from the aerospace industry to build a more realistic type scrum machine that is akin to the real thing.
Rugby WA could invest in a few of these . Rugby WA could set up the National scrum academy.
Rugby WA could set up The Rugby School and have an all boys school dedicated to rugby training. The advantage of a smaller rugby community is that it would work. Expats, saffers, kiwis would be lining up. They could offer overseas scholarships to RSA kids/kiwis. Grow your own elite juniors
Rugby WA could set up a better academy system. They could set up enough groups to have 3 academies and play all teams against each other or compete in the local comp which would increase the profile of the sport. The eastern states, kiwis, Europeans, RSA is full of people that would buy in. Grow your own elite juniors and grow the profle of the sport
Anybody that whines about "it needs money" should be fired and the business community should be hired to raise money to make it work. We live in the richest state in Australia. You can smell the money coming out of the ground. Our time is now. If the state rugby organisation can't get it off the ground, they are apathetic, useless, uninspiring, visionless and should be executed in front of a baying mob.
The immigration of rugby families is at an alltime high with the political situation in RSA, British immigration escaping the consequences of centuries of colonisation, the mining boom attracting kiwis and eastern states expats. The iron is hot. Strike now or miss the opportunity.
Rugby WA has no balls or vision. If it is holding its hand out to the ARU and spending these precious moments whining like little b1tches about the slings and arrows of inequity, sack the farking lot and lets hire an inspiring team of visonaries and ball tearers.
Take some initiative
Show some vision
use a bit of imagination
At the moment, the future of elite rugby is based around poaching players from other Unions. That is a recipe destined for failure.
Lets fix it, not next year, not in 10 years. Lets fix it today ! Take action

"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
So you agree then?
Controversy corner
i was never debating the importance of the tier system to the pinnacle events(player development), i however dont believe that it the QLD Cup is the reason that rugby league is popular in QLD. The QLD Cup itself is a artificial competition with little support from fans, its major funding comes from NRL clubs who form partnerships as a player development tool.
I agree, I think it's a case of the QLD cup exists because league is popular in QLD.
This doesn't sound au fait accompli to me...
"Apart from the PNC, the FRU is also eyeing a number of Super 15 teams to play warm up matches against Fiji early next year."

Unlikely you'll get any credit mate. I'm still waiting for the kudos of picking richard Graham as force coach, or Matt giteau sucking at the end of his second season.

no no, i was reffering to the comment i made about it been a little premature to jump up and down over a competition we know very little detail about..
We were talking about how the ARU shafted us without even telling us.
