The key words "poised to announce", it isn't a done deal until the ink is dry
In other news, the Rebels are poised to announce the other half of the Reds team will play for the Victorian based team next season....see anyone can say that

Don 't want to see Jayden go! Have always liked Ben Lucas tho - he's been going really well out of Quades shadow, thought he was going to the Rebs? Not keen on bully boy Quirk.
I did read somewhere Hayward was heading to NZ again to play ITM cup this yr.. I think he is another one like Alby and Sais who need the ARU to confirm there statis ( Alby got a nod so hopefully Hayward can to ))
Not quite.
Alby is an all black and will never qualify for the wallabies.
Haywood is here as a development player with the view to qualify for the wallabies. To be able to qualify he needs to stay in aus for 3 years, if he leaves Perth and plays on the ITM he will lose his 3 year status just life Speight did and will have to start again and I don't think the ARU will sign off on that.

Thanks Gaffa
And with Gus that makes 19 of 30 signed for next season and beyond!

Not sure but the IRB are the ones who make the rules and to qualify for a nation you weren't born in or have a link to you need to be a resident in that country for 3 consecutive years and they Deem that if you leave that country to take up a contract somewhere else no matter the length you lose your residency and have to start again.
That's why it's taken so long for Speight to be eligible because he played in the ITM and had to start again. Also the reason Haywood and Ebersohn have returned home in the off season to play in he ITM and currie cup respectively.

I see. I guess the IRB view it as having two bob each way. Concievable Sias could be called into the Bok squad from Currie Cup (or Super Rugby for that matter) this year if they wanted to warehouse him. Not likely for JH though.
