Reporting on, and accountabilities for day to day program and team performance including player and staff wellbeing and development, contribution to organisation brand and game development across participation, commercial and media threads; and annual learning and development program and performance at personal, player and team/program levels; and contribution to national programs including the Wallabies

Purpose (Why does the role exist?)
The role is critical in Western Force’s pursuit to achieve its vision of being a successful, winning and influential high performance rugby program. In essence, the purpose of the head coach position is to lead and be accountable for the Western Force rugby program; to influence and support the underpinning programs that contribute to the sustained success of the Western Force; and to significantly contribute to the Western Force brand and the growth of the game in Western Australia
Key Areas of Responsibility (Over what areas does this role have responsibility and accountability?)
TEAM PERFORMANCE
• Build and uphold the team identity and its associated values and behaviors incorporating those of the broader organisation
• Further develop, implement and manage the Western Force team ‘Blue Print’ and guiding principles for on field success. This includes the development and management of high performance systems across the professional program
• Lead the development and implementation of annual periodised coaching and training plans/models
• Plan and coordinate team, specialist and individual coaching programs
• Lead and manage annual performance measurement of the Western Force team program, staff and players incorporating external review especially that of the ARU HP unit.
• Facilitate strong collaboration with internal and external parties (including the ARU and Wallabies) to support performance – continuous analysis and comparison to measure performance and drive success
• Ensure the Western Force program has an international best practice focus, and that learning and development and ‘leading edge’ initiatives are sought and incorporated
• Represent the Western Force and Rugby WA at national and international meetings/conferences as required
COACHING, LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT & SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT
• Develop and implement the Western Force playing styles and systems (principles of play)
• Develop and implement game plans
• Manage the design and implementation of training session outlines and session plans
• Delegation of coaching components to coaching staff
• Provide coaching on a team, unit and individual basis in agreed areas of the game
• Coordinate and deliver team, player and staff performance measurement reports (training and playing) and maintain records via coordinated effective systems
• Coordinate and deliver unit and individual player review as per above coaching components – training and playing; maintain records of player reviews
• Develop and manage systems to preview opposition teams – team play and unit and individual players
• Attendance at all match, trainings and tours as outlined in program schedule
