It appears to be getting easier to make the Force look good and the Reds look bad in this instance.

It might actually be worth watching that crap this week

Problem is it's broadcast at a time to suit the eastern states but not those of us in the west who won't be home from work by then![]()
but PC. like foxtel, they repeat it so bloody much you will have time to watch one of the 1000 replays they have during the week
The plot sickens

Has anyone read Link's piece in Rugby Heaven today? I really don't quite know what to make of it. I kind of smell a rat lurking between the lines there somewhere?? Anyone else have any thoughts? (Those of you that aren't sick to the back teeth of the whole GeniaGate affair that is anyway!)
As an aside, I read today too that the salary cap isn't going up to $4.8 as expected so maybe we really did dodge a bullet after all with our crazy $600K offer!!

As Angus said in the comments, it seems to be a spin and misdirection for the Reds to CYA about breaching codes of conduct. The interesting aspect was alluding to Lucas, who they signed on Saturday after announcing Genia was off, but is now second string again. He could very well have a breach of good faith claim to cancel the contract, he would now become more valuable to the Force and command a bigger salary.
What a load of cr@p, there is not the slightest chance Genia would agree to forgo $200k. The article in the Australian the day before about the contract being dependent on the salary cap increase is far more interesting, as it shows the lie that Genia is in it for the love of his mates, and also speculates that he will be off to $urope when the Reds cannot honour the contract.
Then there is the piece today that Higginbotham cannot be fitted under the cap with Genia and Cooper hahaha the Reds are screwed and it sounds like Link has admitted it was all his doing hahaha suckers!!
(there ya go, I can act like a petulant idiot as well reds fans) %)
Don't fight that battle Bison. They will beat you with experience.

salary caps are for socialist countries like France will become on the weekend
This is the land of opportunity. The clubs should be able to pay whatever they can afford. The club CEO has to be able to balance the books.
If they can pay, let em play
There is only 5 professional teams in Australia

Sadly, clubs all too often pay more than they can afford and end up going bankrupt. See Wasps, Montauban and nearly Stade Francais, plus Portsmouth, Leeds and Rangers soccer clubs.
Big clubs all, and thought they could buy enough success to pay their promised wage bill.
Haven't the ARU had to help out Queensland and the Brumbies recently?
The salary cap was brought in to try to make the ARU's funding fair. Queensland and NSW can't warehouse all the talent under a $4 million cap. The talent that they find easier to produce because the ARU pumps so much more funding into these two states. The only problem is, and I am sure NSW and QLD knew this all too well, it costs money to get people to move. So despite the salary cap, the system is unfair because the same talent will play in QLD and NSW for less money. The ARU no longer funds franchise academies- only the two in Sydney and Brisbane- and so our talent will find it hard not to go over there to take the next step up.
It's well and truly f'ed.

I am confused about why the ARU bothered to start the WA and Vic franchises. If the system is still so skewed towards QLD and NSW (which even blind Freddy can see it is), what was the point?? And I'm not being sarcastic here, I really don't get it![]()
