Burgs, they need back up hookers for the few weeks left of the season, not run on superstars.
Each of the first grade clubs I have seen play this year have hookers capable of coping adequately at that level and in that capacity. I know of two personally, who I won't name here out of respect for their privacy, one of whom has in the past few years played under 21 National run on hooker for a first tier nation, and another who played NPC.
Don't tell me that out of the ten teams in the Competition their aren't a few more who could cut the mustard.
But we'll never know, because the selectors will take the soft option, and buy another third stringer from another franchise without looking in their own back yard.
The guys who played Perth Gold, and no disrespect of them intended, do not define the depth of talent available in this state. They are only representative of those who have put their hand up to play in a cannon fodder competition, with no emoluments, at the risk of their employment, with no income cover if injured, and, often, with the selfish disapproval of their own clubs.
