Yeah, I agree with Happy, it was more like 'I guess I'm sorry I got caught out' rather than genuine regret. Oh I'm glad he's not bringing the mighty Western Force name into disgrace with these antics of his.
Great, all we need in Melbourne is another self centered athlete. I hope this acts as a wake up call to him, otherwise he can bugger off somewhere else.

If what we read is correct, this is his third strike, so I wonder what happens after this if he doesn't.
As well as his exit from the force - any credibility he could have had, he has torched.
I'd say Jimmy wouldnt want to jump on the surface of the frozen lake, lest he fall in

If he does f**k up again I dont think he will bugger off - the rebels will do that to him. Seeing as they didn't have any issues benching cipriani earlier this year, and he was hands down the best player out there for them. And the aru has shown that they don't mind ripping up contacts for messing about.

    Next year will be interesting

Well if you're going to learn how to drink, you may as well learn from a pro.
All 3 just need someone to teach them how to lift bottles though

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Wallaby O'Connor not dwelling on past

    Adrian Warren, AAP
    September 1, 2011, 4:33 pm

Wallaby winger James O'Connor isn't dwelling on the issue that cost him a place in the Tri Nations victory over New Zealand and threatens to jeopardise his starting spot for the upcoming Rugby World Cup.

O'Connor missed the match in Brisbane due to a one-game ban imposed for missing two team functions - the Wallabies' World Cup squad photo and squad announcement.

His place on the wing was taken by Adam Ashley-Cooper, who moved from outside centre, which was then occupied by Anthony Faingaa.

Wallabies coach Robbie Deans was typically non-committal earlier this week when asked if O'Connor would regain his starting spot for Australia's World Cup opener against Italy.

O'Connor was philosophical about the punishment and any lessons learnt from his indiscretion.

"You learn lessons every day. We move on to next week," O'Connor told reporters on Thursday.

He focused on the excitement of watching the Wallabies score a drought-breaking Tri Nations title-clinching win in Brisbane, rather than dwelling on not being part of the on-field action.

"I was more excited for all the boys, to be honest, It was a massive occasion and the boys really stood up," O'Connor said.

"It's an awesome effort. It's going to give us great momentum leading into this World Cup."

While he was confined to the sideline, O'Connor admitted he was caught up in the emotion of the occasion.

"It was an awesome game. I think I caught myself on the big screen fist-pumping which was pretty embarrassing," O'Connor said.

"A game like last week makes you proud to be part of a whole team, and all 30 have a massive role."

Deans revealed his gifted utility back had been doing his bit for the team in an off-field capacity leading up to the Test in Brisbane.

"He's done a lot of work on behalf of the group in the background over the last week," Deans told reporters earlier this week.

"We got him working doing some tasks helping staff, helping players, sohe was serving the team in another way."

O'Connor said with no Test this weekend, the squad was having a big week of training, with plenty of gym work.

The public will have the chance to farewell the Wallabies on Monday, when they will make an appearance in the Sydney CBD.

Fans are being encouraged to send the players messages of support through Facebook and Twitter.

JOC will do very well at the Brumbies and set himself up for a long successful and profitable career in world rugby... It’s a rugby program worthy of his talents...

To be fair the Force haven't developed O'Connor just employed him for the last year or so. He brought his talents to the Force... When Giteau left and went west he had been at the Brumbies academy since he was 14-15... The Brumbies were stunned as he and Henjak were our next generation to replace Larkham and Gregan... We got over it...

Its not about equity its about provincial ascendancy in the Southern Hemisphere… The Brumbies want their third Championship...

Don't forget Muddy, a significant influence in his early career was on M Giteau, so he can hardly be blamed for a quotient of self involvement.....I fear though, that his development will continue in the same vein at Melbourne, since they took him on despite the atrocious publicity he set up for himself at the end of the Force negotiations.
