I think the crucial comment that really says it all is the one from the article on the 2nd Feb; (Geoff Stooke)
“We have decided we will move to Members Equity and if that means going to some temporary facilities, which the Town of Vincent believes can be put in place, we will until a more permanent upgrade can be done.”
When you think about those structures they put up for corporate entertaining at the Lilac Hill cricket matches it doesn't seem that impossible or implausible.
It's MES (aka Wrecktangle/Forcefield/Mitchell Plateau/Wellborn Park etc etc) or bust!
"The only trophy we won this day, was the blood and sweat we left on the pitch.... and it was enough"
"Rugby may have many problems, but the gravest is undoubtedly that of the persistence of summer."

Premier Colin Barnett showed WA's football fans exactly what he thought of them not just by shelving plans for a new stadium in WA last week, but the way he did it.
Rather than any fulsome apology for the decision to mothball the Kitchener Park project in favour of other projects deemed more urgent, Barnett was blunt in his assessment of the main piece of sporting infrastructure in the state.
"People will go and watch football. There's a stadium there," Barnett said.
And with that one statement, fans of the Eagles, Dockers and the rest of the AFL, as well as rugby and soccer fans know where they stand with the current government.
Don't like Subiaco - then tough, because that's all you're getting from us."
etc etc .
Love the comments though.
"Well here we go again I just cant understand why the Media is so keen to give a 2 billion gift to the AFL.
The AFL will screw the other codes to keep them down and a small thing please tell me how much Govt Money has been given forgiven or otherwise handed to the AFL, VFL, WAFL and WAFC over the past 40 yrs as loans ect and how much has been paid back"

something I noticed in yesterdays paper was that the State Government Forgave the WAFC millions of dollars in loans after the last Subiaco Oval redevleopment.
$15 Million is hardly spare change is it
Actually i should change my words, not "officially scrapped", the project was "put on the shelf" for 2 years minimum, if not longer
