Doesn't really need 450 pages Andy, more like one sentence.

This is probably her best option.

Laura, are you studying medicine or vet? You sound very well informed. Can anyone tell me the details of the findings? Is she an XXY hermaphrodite? Or XX with a tdf (testis determining factor) transfer to one of her X chromosomes??
I tend to agree, it wasn't intentional cheating and befor ethe test she had no idea of her advantage over other competitors so she shouldn't be completely banned if she is willing to make the changes then she should be able to compete again when she is deemed to have no 'extra' testosterone levels. I spose someone will probably argue that her musculature and body shape are still an advantage though..

Hahaha no. Just doing a sexology unit which covers all this kind of psychosexual development stuff. I wish I knew more about it though, its really interesting.
She could have 47XXY, 46XX or possibly (but highly unlikely 46XY). There was no announcement of any genetic findings just that she was an intersexed individual and had male internal reproductive structures and internal testes, with external female genitalia.

Tall basketball players should be banned from basketball - or be surgically altered so they're the average height. Damned cheats.

Two years is a bit harsh for someone who hasn't cheated.

I'd say the worst could be based on the Alain Baxter case - he used to use Vicks inhaler in the UK which doesn't have steriods in but at the Winter Olympics he bought some in America where it has. Baxter had his medal stripped and a 3 month ban.

Mind you, even stripping her medal would be harsh - Baxter inadvertantly took a banned substance, Semenya had an undiagnosed genetic abnormality.

Agree with you, Sheikh an undiagnosed genetic abnormality is surely not an attempt at cheating. A known and hidden genetic abnormality is a different story.

I'm sure many successful athletes have genetic anomolies which make them faster and stronger than me - we just have names for some of these anomolies.

    Is talent a genetic abnormality?

If so, I could campaign to get everyone who has any banned and win a gold medal.......in anything!
