The last five minutes were encouraging...........
Go The Force!
Really that was a complete load of shit. Anyone that defends that lame effort and buys into the Force social media spin is fkn deluded. Where the 8 wins are goin to come from I have no idea. So dissapointed, team didn't show up at all.
It's just so disappointing. You look forward to the season so much and they are playing worse than last year. How is this possible! They spend a lot of money advertising and marketing to get people to come and then play like that.. Just wish we could have a start to a season like the rebels. That is what they need to get fans back yet we are always let down. I'm a very despondant force supporter today. :-(
Well they can stop calling it the Force field after that load of cobblers. The Farce Field would be more like it!
May the FORCE be with you!
Sad to see such plain predictable play from the Force last night, still no concept of attacking rugby just go out there and try not to loose by too much. Last years attack coach never seemed to get his way and left, now this years attack coach is obviously not having much input either. Foleys bore them to death approach didnt work at the tahs and its just going to destroy WA rugby. No wonder its hard to recruit good players and fans.
The really disappointing thing was how disinterested almost all of the players looked up until the last 10 minutes. Just walking or jogging around everywhere, not chasing and missing easy tackles. They just looked like they didn't want to be there.
How there can be that little interest so early in the season is very worrying. One thing the Force have always had is heart, which we need since we don't have the talent of a lot of other teams. If we don't have that this year, then we're toast. Tough to justify going to the game when the players don't look like they're putting in an effort.
AAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the first time in 9 years last night I thought we are not good enough to even be in this competition.
What is the next league down, because we should be relegated and come back in a few years when we are up to the minimum standard.
Totally outclassed.![]()
Had to get that out of my system.
Only pleasing thing from this match was Michael Foley insisting that the whole squad, including him, went and faced the fans after the game so that they could all get a good spray and feel some of the pain.
Better effort in the 2nd half in keeping the Brumbies to only 3 points.
The flair/effort shown in the last 3 minutes only increased the frustration. Why the hell can our 1st XV still have anything left after 78 minutes??? But it was great to see the guys off the bench put in a good showing. The first time I've seen Sias take the ball at speed!!
For me this game will always be a 0:27 thrashing!!
We need one of these. His influence is starting to show at the Tahs and is now absent at the Saders.
I still maintain had they kicked the 5 kickable penalties it would have been 29-27 to the Force. They should have been patient and kicked all the points they were given.
WARURA Referee
I do it because I love the game.
RR what's your take on the scrums? After the engage call can you push or must you wait for the ball to be put in? It seems a cluster f@rk to me at present.
May the FORCE be with you!
I think it is more than disinterest, it's a lack of self-belief - they don't believe in themselves nor the team, and resort to playing bunched up, flat rugby where the focus is on not taking chances. For the last 10 minutes they actually played as if they had some faith in their teammates and their abilities. They're not the most talented team but if they played with some fundamental belief that they are good enough to be there they would have run the Brumbies ragged and given that tahs more of a challenge.
A good team psychologist is what's needed
Question - how many times have the force won their first game at home during the season?
Answer: None
2006: 25-10 loss to Brumbies (first ever game)
2007: 8-7 loss to Highlanders (Henjak penalised when we were on attack to win game)
2008: 29-24 loss to Crusaders (after 3 week tour in SAfr)
2009: 25-19 loss to Blues (who remembers the dodgy using wrong ball for quick lineout?)
2010: 25-16 loss to Brumbies (first game at NiB)
2011: 39-12 loss to Sharks (Sidey red card after 17mins)
2012: 46-19 loss to Hurricanes (TJ Perenara hat-trick)
2013: 19-10 loss to Cheetahs (not switched on for game)
2014: 27-14 loss to Brumbies (no possession in first half, poor execution etc)
It's something mental within the organisation about the first home game, sure we woz robbed in a couple of those games, but maybe the pressure of playing in front of us at the first home game gets to everyone. Although, last night there was more intensity shown by the under 9s than the first half performance.
