I was reading somewhere that there are differing levels of Acadamy contracts, I suspect the highest level would be a player who can train with the full squad but isn't intended to be used on the field. I remember that several academy players were 'activated' (is that the right term?) in response to injuries last year. I wonder if a player can be activated for a short term. I know Kieran of the Long Bottom stepped up after Gus did his heel thingo, but that was a career ending thing so I'd expect Kieran to continue or be replaced, but can the club bring an academy player into the squad for somebody who is suffering a long term injury (let's say Shep's broken leg was in the middle of the S14 season, touch wood) can the academy player step up for the six weeks or so until the rehab's been completed?
