Ex smoker speaking, fairly heavy for that. Took several attempts to stop but did after probably 10 years of trying, off and on.
For me, I don't have a major problem with people who smoke, as long as it doesn't bug me.....I'm pretty tolerant considering I'm an ex smoker.
The way I see it is......older smokers have made their choice, whether it's based on starting because of; culture, peer pressure, curiosity or just to look cool.
What I like about the governments drive is it targets the youth.
Now, if you are defending smoking and saying it is perfectly ok for our next generation to suck them up then you are an arse hole....IMHO.
But, if not, then this change should be supported....an old smoker knows their brand and will probably stick with it! The point is, not having a brand is boring.....kids hate boring.
The vast majority of smokers I know want to stop, or often think that they would like to. Breaking the habit or addiction, whatever you want to call it, is f'king hard, I know but why help other people start?
Let's try our best to stop passing on this habit! Support the change or just be another mindless self centred wanker....IMHO....of course.
