Larkham was organised with good skills
He was a manufactured 10. Cooper has everything Larkham had x 10 + more
Larkham ran sideways too much. He made it fashionable. I farking hate inside backs that run sideways
Watching Cooper and the Reds inside backs and how they get space and overlaps at will is pretty to watch. It involves running straight and using clever deceptions, cut outs, loops, extra runners...............not drifting/ghosting/running sideways

It's easy to say that QC is a better player than JOC when at the moment they don't play in the same position, nor in the same conditions. QC plays arguably in the best team of S15 and that clearly helps to showcase your skills.

Plus keep in mind that JOC is still 2 years younger. If I recall correctly, QC was nothing like JOC when he was 20.

There is no denying that QC is world class.. I watched him live vs France in Paris last November and I have to agree with everything that was said above. But I think with JOC you've got an equally remarkable talent that has possibly even more potential. He was a bit disappointing vs the Reds because he wasn't fed enough good attacking balls.

But I still have in mind his second season of S14, when he played 12 alongside Giteau who fed him great passes all year, and he was just out of this world that year.

Agreed. JOC is a fine talent.
This is the start of a new golden age for the men in gold.
I'll be honest and say that I thought Cooper's mindset would limit his potential......ie a talent for p1ss, off field trouble and self harm.
I was astounded at his good attitude at the Force field on Sat night. Mingled with opposition fans until the cows came home. No yahoo about him. Modest and humble and had the game at heart. He didn't have to stand there in the cold for the oppositions fans-on-the-field-day.
QC has freakish talents combined with genuine speed. A remarkable package. I rarely advocate the skills of backs.

    edit
A salute to Robbie Deans for promoting and packaging the rough diamond and making him believe. We now have a world class 10 to shake the RWC. The scarey thing is he'll get better

Agreed he's getting better and his belief is growing... wonderful running long pass... needs to develop his short game. Brumbies shut down his long pass preference at Suncorp. Larkham was a better reader of the game... Cooper runs hot and cold reading but is without a doubt getting better... he is key to the taking out the RWC championship...

Ugh....seriously? Is that our second best option?

How about Kurtley, he seems to have done OK at the tahs when selected at 10.

Beales not a international Flyhalf... it will have to be Giteau... ... there is no advantage in taking Beale away from a roving role in the Wallabies.

Giggles this just might make your World Cup fantasy come true... there is no way Cooper will play every minute of the RWC for the Wallabies... Giteau will be there at sometime… His form has been good this year, peaking again at the right time just before the RWC…

    Barnes is a better 10 than a 12 IMHO
Barnes is a very good organiser and has a great kicking game. He doesn't have the attacking brilliance of QC, JOC, Beale or Giteau.
I'd pick him at 10 and play Gits 12 if QC gets injured

Muddy, you're a riddle, wrapped in an enigma surrounded by a contradiction....you can't seriously use the words International Flyhalf and Matt Giteau in the same sentence unless they're the other way around and separated by the words "doesn't qualify to polish the boots of an"

........actually, Helangua (wazhisname howzefarkdoyouspellit) playing 10 for the Tahs has been quietly achieving. He is quite a fair attacking player, organises a backline well, has a good kicking game and has hardened up massively in defence. He put some massive hits on big ball runners from the Highlanders the other night. The Tahs always perform best when he is at 10.

If QC was injured and Barnes was concussed.........you could do worse than Helanguauahuaiuahua......

Hangers can't secure a starting Tahs spot... Lealiifano would be better... it will be Cooper and Giteau. Beale or JOC to stand in if required to end a match…

Watch Giteau fire up on Saturday night against the Tahs…
