    Alfie thought he couldn't come out until his international career was pretty much over.

    How many current players in any male sport are out? Soccer, rugby (either code), gAyFL, NFL, etc. The macho culture hardly encourages it.

    Compare that to women's sports when it seems at times like it's practically a requirement. At one point I recall 7 of the top 10 women's tennis players were either out or suspected and no-one raised a fuss.
