He did have a good game but i just feel next year he will be well down the pecking order and he is only a 10 which works against him as a bench option.

to be honest I would not want to see Godwin thrown into the 10 position. he has been one of the form 12's of the whole Super comp this year, and switching him around at this stage would be unwise in my opinion. I think it would hurt his development.

O'Connor is also not a 10 (again, in my opinion). He is better suited to a back 3 position (but not at the expense of Morahan or Cummins).

Holmes is probably my 1st choice 10 next year, with him also having the ability to be a bit more of a backline utility player. he is a great running option and will really be able to capitalise on forward momentum our pack can gain.

I would have said Sias is the 2nd choice 10, BUT plays a more conservative style which will no doubt work against him. having said that, the few times he has run the ball this year he has done some really, really good things.

Although he did play 10 on the weekend, and we scored 3 trys, the only backline try came from a good snipe by Alby, and quick pass to Cummins. Sias was not involved other than an outside decoy.

So yes, we do have a umber of guys who "could" play at 10 in a pinch, I feel we really only have 2 realistic options there at present. having said that, it is certainly a better position to be in than just relying on a single marquee 10 that we did for so long!

Was also interesting to see that Luke Burton and Ollie Hoskins where both sitting in the Stands with the non playing players on sat night. Burton is another handy 10/12 options after how he performed for the Aus u20's he would be worth and EPS contract.

Burton and Ollie should definitely be around the team next year in some capacity. Either as an EPS option or as part of the 3rd tier comp they are starting to set up.

both showed some really good things at the under 20's from what I saw too.

    From Rugby Gold

"WESTERN Force are planning on recruiting up to 20 South African rugby players to play in the local competition and train with the franchise.

Force coach Michael Foley wants to bring in players who have not represented the Springboks at under-21 level, which would technically make them eligible for the Wallabies and would not mark them as foreign imports."

I guess it makes some sort of sense considering the shit we get from the east coast. My only concern would be the lack of opportunity for local lads, but Jaapies are pretty much local lads now anyway!

If it lifts the level of the local comp so the local lads can play against a higher quality of opponent then I'm all for it. There's already 35K SA born peeps in Perth, what's 20 more?

Wouldn't need too much for 20 talented hopefuls from africa. What a check out worker gets in perth is about what they'd expect to earn.. With the exchange rate hitting 25:1

Can I ask what resources the Force are putting into finding these 20 young south african players?

How does the club no they will be good enough to front up and perform at the level required to make Super Rugby?

Is there not enough talent locally that could be given a go? I am all for making the Force as strong as possible but not at the expense of losing potential Australian born and raised youngsters who are just as good to the game because imports are deemed to be better

I notice Caleb Brown at the awards night.

Is he aligned with any local club or could he be making a return to the squad??
