I wonder if WIlliams will play more time at 6 than 5 next season. Swain and Rodda starting - Carter in the wings off the pine?

That's how I would see it yeah
As per Brumbies, will likely play 80, coming into #4 around the 60 minute mark.

I would think they would want to keep Franklin on the books too - he seemed to play well this season

A poster on G&GR states that Carter is retiring but he has not provided a source.

He's 34 and was only signed as injury cover. I'm a little surprised that he won't be heading back to Leicester, but they seem pretty stacked at lock so perhaps he wasn't getting the game time he wanted anyway. I don't think he's getting back into the Wallabies squad, and maybe he (like Wells) has a job he can go into.

He's in a similar space to JT, and he has a wealth of experience, especially when the going gets tough. I'd expect Rodda and Swain to do the heavy lifting at Lock next season, but Cron has talked about the importance of having depth. He made a very positive contribution when he joined but if he is retiring the Force have Felix and JW I suppose.

He barely played at Leicester to be honest, and was more of an injury/international cover there too.

    Sam Carter this Season
    Leicester 15 Matches, Started 4/15 Total Played 490' (Avg : 33')
    Western Force 5 Matches, Started 4/5 Total Played 268' (Avg : 54')

If it's about playing then he is doing better here.
Will largely come down to the retention or not of Franklin I would think, hard to picture both staying.
However, if the Force are creative and can get him employment here for a Season, then maybe he would stay as cover, keeping his fitness up like Thrushy.

I would rather we went hard for Lukhan or Canham

    We need to get

    - any 2 of Tupou/Gibbon/Pone/Talakai/kalea
    - any 1 of Canhan or Lukhan
    - Leota
    - Daugunu or Lancaster or both

If RA are limiting internationals, we need a Tighthead to cover the potential loss of Santi and a Tighthead to cover Tuakipulu until he comes up to the required level (not far away, but he's not there yet) so I'd argue we need three props from them.

Everybody in the media talks about Tupou to the Tahs, but they don't mention that we've been operating with an Argentinean prop whose been removed at the request of his nation before, only returning when the team he was contracted to folded.

They have a number of Wallaby eligible tightheads who have only been a problem this year because their S&C sucks.

If we don't get a significant boost in the front row, then I think it just proves my suspicions about centralisation correct.

    I'd add Eloff to that.
He's been continuously in Australia since 2021.
In fact, I'd prefer him to Tupou on ROI.
    Tupou will blow salary caps.

Is Eloff capable of playing THP?

Yes. He's predominantly a THP. That's why he should be a serious target.

Don't need any more LHPs. Already have Robertson (also THP), Hancock, Hoopert, and Pearce.
