Encouraging message from the CEO on e mail today. With a more lean cost structure I think GRR can come through this crisis in better shape to go forward than SR. Not to be too schadenfreude about that though - there's lots of players, families and others feeling the loss now. Just like our boys did a few years ago.

One option if GRR is allowed to be played later down the track is for each team to only play each other once instead of once at home and once away, similar to the NRC.
I saw a story in The Worst that GRR is talking with RA about games with Super sides if restrictions allow.
If they were going to do that, better to give the NRC one last big hurrah.
I’ve seen a comment that Twiggy should be willing to ‘work’ with RA as its all in the name of ‘national’ rugby. Seems that ‘national’ & remembering the Force only applies when it suits.

This will surprise no one but I can not see a problem with the Western Force playing the East Coast.
Wouldn't you like to know what standard the Force are playing at compared to the others?

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
Can't really see the value in a few meaningless scratch matches, over (say) a full home and away NRC for reals. With a bit of warning, the Fijian and maybe even Samoan GRR teams might do the quarantine and base themselves in Aus for it.
If they cancel everything else, more than anything they'd need content.
I think the suspension is a great idea. Its better to postpone it that attempt to play it in empty stadiums. Even if GRR doesnt start back up till October I'm happy with the call to postpone rather than cancel.
Pretty happy with the first round of GRR, had some very good games. Seeing the Force live was the icing on the cake.
If the season hasn't resumed by October you can probably start looking forward to season 2021
Rest of championship series cancelled. Wildcats 2 Kings 1 out of 3 games. All statements read it was the Kings who made the call, refused to travel or play. I'd at the very least call that forfeiting.
Apparently the NBL are going to announce who wins the championship in 48 hours.
I think they're looking for the eastern state biased spreadsheet that will determine the outcome
Who finished on top? They win.
Sorry - I feel the Wildcats would likely have won the finals series, but if it's cancelled then who finished on top?
Like what has just happened in the Sheffield Shield.
If the Wildcats had stayed in Sydney then maybe they could have just played the last 2 games over there. They won both Sydney games, so they' be in pretty good shape to win the title.
