He lasted 49 minutes, if I get a full time call, I'll ask. Mostly been via SMS so far - great job done by our man on the ground!Originally Posted by travelling_gerry

Sheps got 10 from 12 kicks for goal.
2nd half, although a try fest was much quieter generally, fiji spent the last 10 camped in Australian territory but still no score.
Well Done Australia A!!

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! A side trounces Fiji
July 22, 2006 - 10:56pm
Story by: Sportal
Australia A has run in 12 tries to nil to massacre Fiji 80-9 at Melbourne's Olympic Park on Saturday night.
Former Wallabies winger Drew Mitchell put his hand up for re-selection with three tries, while man-of-the-match Cameron Shepherd and captain John Roe both crossed twice.
The Fijians, who also went down 47-18 to the A side in Adelaide last week, lacked their usual flare from the backline and were unable to dot down all night, the only points coming off the boot of Jo Tora.
The only major downside for the home side was that it gave little indication of how prop Rodney Blake would go if called up to the Wallabies side for the clash with the All Blacks in Brisbane next week.
Blake and loosehead prop Al Baxter had few problems dismantling an atrocious Fijian pack, before Blake left the field injured early in the second half.
Wallabies coach John Connolly was watching from the stands, but will have no more insight into whether to rush Blake back to the first string side after he spent the last month on the sideline with an ankle injury.
The A side opened the scoring through Shepherd after just five minutes, the fullback finishing the match with 44 points to his name.
Australia led 35-9 at half-time, before running in seven second-half tries, including two to Mitchell in just ten minutes on the field.
Mitchell, who was a surprise omission from the Wallabies squad earlier this year, then added his third just two minutes from the end after winger Digby Ioane was forced to the blood-bin.
Flyhalf Sam Norton-Knight also left the field during the match with a shoulder problem.
Australia A 80
Tries: Mitchell 3, Shepherd 2, Roe 2, Ioane, Tune, Palu, Croft, penalty try
Conversions: Shepherd 10
Fiji 9
Penalties goals: Tora 3
Hooly dooly, now take note reporters....THAT is a "Smashing", "Belting", "Rolling", "Routing" etc, not a ten point win!
When done to the Force fellas, especially Shep, and thanks Geeker and Gawker for the team work getting us the updates![]()
