Well done i say, and good on Palu and Holmes for thier efforts as well. And typically, George Smith once again features at the top of the votes, he is all class....Can someone inform me, has he got an injury which is hindering his selection, or has connolly lost the plot by not playing him in the starting fifteen???
lost the plot as far as i know...
I made Happy sad...
He and Waugh have been battling for top dog their entire career's.. Smith was getting a bit tired so Connolly gave Waugh a start against the kiwi's where waugh played out of his skin against McCaw.. waugh deserved another start against the boks after that..
Well done Latho great effort.
Now looking at the past results and winners you may be able to assume that "forwards" used to win matches, now it's a "back"!
Have to agree with some of you about the Holmes try....that should have been the winner, even though Gits was a ripper.

Latho was very gracious in victory and despite Elsome earlier in the presentation indicating that Chris has expressed his confidence that he would be receiving the award he still seemed genuinely surprised and touched when he did in fact receive the honour.
He gave a wonderful thankyou speech where he thanked his wife for all her love and support and expressed his disappointment that she wasn't there with him last night.
Not only is he a fantastic player, he is a truly lovely bloke.
Couldn't be happier with the award going to him.
But i agree about the try of the year... Gits did produce some brilliance but that was fairly standard for him... Holmsey should have got it. A 60m dash by a prop is something pretty special. not something you see every day that's for sure!
At least he got the nod for rookie of the year. He certainly didn't deserve to go home empty handed.
