Question. Is Pocock going to stay a professional rugby player? Does he have the interest?
Or does his mrs's want him to be a polly?
I hope I'm wrong but just something seems strange.imo

Pocock is one of the best 7's over the ball and his tackling is second to none. But his open running and link play between the backs is lacking he telegraphs what he is going to do when he gets the ball tucks it under the arm and puts an arm out to fend.

Hooper is a great open runner and his link play is exceptional however just not strong enough overthe ball for international games. He just gets pushed off when the first player arrives, to be successful you need to still over the ball when the second and third player arrives.

George is the combination of both of these guys he has that skill of holding defence back when running with the ball. His low body height over the ball has secured many a turnover from the best in the business. Plus he is like a talisman around rucks for the wallabies.

The last point is why George has got the nod in a side light on cover for the backs. The nearest to him in that Dept is Alcock. He is not far off Hooper and Pocock at rucktime and defense. If Browndog moves on 2014 we should see him starting most games and it may be his time to take it to the next level.

Sad that his final game ended the way it did for him.
He may have passed the concussion test - but he looked like he was off the pace all night.
Getting subbed while useless was in the bin didn't help him get into the flow of things either...

I will always feel good about smithy - he gave us some bloody great rugby and taught a hell of a lot of people (including young rugby players) how well #7 can be played.
