2009 Adelaide sevens was officially launched today by SA premier Mike Rann and JO'N at Adelaide Oval. The tournament starts at 5:30pm on Friday 3rd April and concludes on Sunday 5th April. The reason for the Friday night start was to try and entice more people to attend after work.

Just an aside, JO'N said the reason Adelaide did not secure a test in 2009 was because the Western stand had not been upgraded. This basically means that Adelaide will not see test rugby until that upgrade is complete, of which there is no set timeline.

Can't believe they aren't offering a three day pass. Have to buy Friday seperatly. The only other 7's that is three days is Hong Kong and they have lots more teams playing, therefore more games. Something tells me this is more about getting an extra $10 for parking out of everyone, plus extra beer sales.
