Mr Perth Girl and I bought 2 shares yesterday. For me there is no point in holding off as it may be too late then. I feel that I might have some say in the outcome by acting now but everyone has to do what is best for them
Chris Dutton in Rugby Heaven has a story about how the Brumbies should be Kept as they have cost the ARU the least this year. He is saying that Brums cost 3 mill Force 7 and Rebels 8 mill. Says these figures are from ARU paperwork
He has just copy and pasted those numbers. In no way does he give an accurate breakdown of those numbers to contextualise them into what the money was used for.
Force received $7.37 million. That includes the money from selling the Force to the ARU which was a little over $3 million of that figure. The Rebels received $8 million. In no way does Chris Dutton make the point that the Rebels funding is supplementary to what Imperium Pty Ltd is liable for following the sale of the Rebels.
Brumbies received $5.8 million not $3 million.
It was reported the Brumbies received $5.775 million in funding from the ARU - the smallest amount of any team including the NSW Waratahs and Queensland Reds despite 12 months of off-field drama.

The Force was given $7.357 million and the Rebels' pockets were filled with $8.3 million.
The Brumbies reported a loss of $864,093 for the past financial year, which was largely attributed to a costly legal battle with former chief executive Michael Jones.

I have my banners ready!!!
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
Isn't it interesting that no one reports that the Rebels cost the ARU $12mm when they bailed them out from the first private owner so this sits on top of the current figure. Nor do they mention the Reds are in the hole to their bank for $7mm ( and didnt they play like a bankrupt team tonight).
It's bad strategy to talk about things that likely to detract from the agenda you're running.

That's certainly true Shasta. Frustratingly the ARU have consistently claimed that this is all about financial stability of the code and everything else is secondary. However if they properly reflected on this alone they would readily come to the conclusion that after 12 years the Force has had the lowest financial impact on their coffers than any franchise especially those they seek so passionately to protect. Journos throw out numbers like a Trump twitters but no one has taken the time to properly investigate the facts. Now ironically we offer even more financial stability through the Road Safety sponsorship and Own the Force and they are trying to desperately to convince themselves this isn't real.
Meanwhile over at the Rebels disaster is looming as it is absolutely inevitable the owner will walk in a year or two without more significant ARU subsidies.
So frustrating but we are not done yet.
Wouldn't it be a turn up for rugby punt the Force and then the Rebels ask for more cash or the owner walks. If we get the boot I sadistically hope it does happen because by then this little black duck will be gone from the code.
