im honestly still baffled by the Pek selection, i suppose he will be added to the long list of discarded wallaby props in the next 12months...

Go back and look at the tapes. You will be amazed.

Pek has developed light years this year, but Wallaby? I was pleasantly surprised, but do wonder if he's not there more for the devlopment than any genuine game time.

Is there any official limitation on International training/touring squads or is it just up to what the nation wants to spend on the team?

I suppose the same could have been said last year with the selections of Alexander and Kepu, who had at that stage had very little S14 experience.

Pek has played 22 S14 games and has shown a noticable improvement in the scrum, good mobility around the field, good aggression at the breakdown, great defence,a good pass and a solid running game.

What else do you need from a prop,Dingo has obviously noticed the same qualities
and has mentioned that he likes the way that Pek imposes himself on the opposition.

I wouldnt call his selection baffiling, but more just rewards for the way that he has performed for the Force this season.I agree with TG go back to tapes of previous
games if you are still baffled

I agree that Pek's selection, whilst called for from many of us, was a little surprising, but his improvement over the past two seasons has been remarkable.

When you consider the standard of the Australian props available, after Baxter, Robinson and Alexander, Pek's probably the fourth best (maybe even third!). Yes, he might not get significant game time, but he'll get exposure to the Wallaby set-up, probably some game time before the Tri-Nations, and maybe bench time in the Tri-Nations. All good for his (and Australia's) development.
