It would be good if Australian coaches learned how to scrum. Perhaps he is studying argentinean beef recipes?

Hmmm professional development - let's go off and see what we can learn from the newest kids on the block coz that would be sooo much more useful than going to NZ or England or France to learn from some of the oldest, wisest and best organised rugby unions in the world.

Nope, sorry, still a load of wank as far as I can see.

Any team that can towel the bokke and allblacks at scrum time is worth studying. The only time the wallabies were ever a force up front we had an Argentine at prop...topo Rodriguez

So your issue is he went to Argentina? But if he have gone to the UK you wouldn't have cared?
Why would he go somewhere that can pay school aged boys more than we can. There is no benefit in that.

No, I was merely responding to the 'professional development' argument.

My issue is that while the rest of us are all shuffling deckchairs on the Titanic and looking down the back of the sofa for any spare change we can find, the coach of the union that receives the most money from the ARU to grow the game in every corner of NSW is swanning around a completely different country "studying" something. And if he's looking for school-aged boys to bring to the most cashed-up union in Australia (and which appears to have a direct line of credit from the ARU) because he thinks he can pay them less, then that's disgusting.

    Anyway, that's my piece.

Two weeks ago your team was destroyed by Argentina up front in fact they have been beaten by everyone up front so it doesn't matter where he goes he would learn something
He might not be your favourite person but he has the runs on the board in Sydney club rugby European rugby and now super rugby
The bloke will be to smart to touch a poise. Challace like the wallabies festering environment
The wallaby players have to much to say off the field without backing it up on the field
As jake White has stated he wants to coach a team that can win the World Cup that's why I'm coaching Tonga
Doesn't say much for the wallabies at the moment
Even a win over the ABs this weekend could not fix this mess

Much as I despise NSW and all its works, having a look at how the Argies approach scrummaging (training, coaching etc) is probably not a bad idea. Shouldn't be too expensive as the exchange rate is in our favour (I think). Anyway, I would want to know what the cost was and what the benefits were before deciding if the trip was a waste of time.

I didn't realise that Argentina only started playing Test Rugby in 2012.

He has already worked in Europe for 9 years in Italy, Ireland and France. Fairly sure he would have already sussed out Europe.

I'd suggest a trip to the optometrist.

You don't know how the trip was funded and neither do I. In fact I know of several examples of players and coaches from the other codes in Australia fudning their own overseas camps. They probably use it as a tax write off.

If I said the sky was blue, at least 2 people on here would still want to argue with me about it.

that's true, but even I think you're pushing it this time, and I usually agree with you.
