well said wqerti - I have no affinity with Nedlands but know many that do and they do like it there and have had a good time whether at 1st grade or in the lower nether regions of the comp. The bitterness shown by some may relate to some deep seated inferiority complex or the fact that some people are just plain nasty - Bag clubs with a bit of tongue in cheek but keep it in focus - its a game and no one needs to be vilified especially when you hide behind a code name.
Unless of course you are bagging Soaks then all is fair

Controversy corner
Argh yes - it's that time again, can't wait for thursday week to roll around - is anyone aware of any curtain raisers prior to Force & Reds taking the pitch???
on to the Thread, she's been an interesting read - 30mins of my life I wont get back, though it did hold me for the most part! There's been some wise comments based on commonsence & not so-wise comments based on rarking one-another up. (which is fair play, of course)
RM - I know you are envolved with the Rocky jnrs which is great. Can you anwser a Q. for me please:
Rockingham had 2 teams in most Jnr grades in 2010 and making finals to-boot......Come 2011 almost 2 out of 3 Jnrs were lost to the club, why was this?
....... & Is the Jnr Club getting the support from it's senior club that it needs to rebuild/attract players?
(as another rocky supporter, Hohepa posted, there's been problems but they are on the mend)
and finally, are those Mungos next door an issue come Jnrs? if so Rocky would need support from the general rugby community for the greater good of rugby given the close proximity of the mungos coastal sharks!!!
Pacman, in simple terms, disaffection within Rocky between the seniors and juniors - juniors accusing the seniors of using their money to import NZers etc, accusations of money going missing, debts, breakaway groups setting up a club in Kwinana, a bunch of colts heading for Mandurah, some of the old guard getting tired and backing out, Mungos luring players with cash, feeling within the juniors that the seniors weren't supporting them, not enough player depth to be competitive in senior or junior ranks, insufficient quality coaches, etc etc.
Rocky is re-building with predominantly parents of junior players on the committee and the old guard sidelined.
Mungos offer more kit and more goodies (eg trips) than Union and the proximity with the Sharks is not ideal.
Don't expect anything other than a year of consolidation for Rockingham in 2012.
For the record, I have not been negative about the club culture at Nedlands, quite the opposite.
Three outcomes from this thread:
1) Force Guy has been put back in his box,
2) Hansie has been forced to be more accountable, and
3) Fulvio has turned nice!
Gates open at 4:30 according to RUGBYWA so yea you can go down and watch
4) RumourMonger has proven himself a little bit of a paranoid, narcissistic, passive-aggressive tool
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
Well, I started at "little bit of a tool" but didn't think it did it justice...
"Bloody oath we did!"

3. A prop is back with us from Sydney, he's come back of his own accord, but we did cover his missus's airfare and 2 weeks rent -
have herd he's been shopping himself around looking for a higher dollar
You trying to ruin Hansie's holiday?
heard from a senior coach but they weren't keen as they have two "home grown " props for the team since january and the price and conditions he wanted weren't ideal...
