another issue which has little to substantiate it, by the looks of the little snippet Beige posted, it would seem Fiji Rugby Union were looking at pushing for the Super Rugby team opponents and not a competition arranged by the ARU, however, like the previous article, it has litttle to offer in references or sources, so can ultimately only be considered another piece in the puzzle.
i wouldnt normally push my own agenda like this, however when considering some of the angst directed at me in this thread i figure 'fuck it, why not'....all good fun though
Thats the ARU would suddenly announce at a Super 15 meeting that a comp was being organised with 3 teams amounts to a shafting.
I have it on authority that the ARU raised the discussions.
Thats they contemplated a comp without all Aussie teams amounts to a shafting.
If you cant feel that, then thats what the discussion is all about.
thats not quite what i meant.... you said you "I have it on good authority that ARU raised the discussion", so you obviously have a contact at one of the Super Rugby teams involved in the competition...
Surely if you have a source in the circle you have more info on the subject?
Do you see "Wikileaks" anywhere in the address line on here?
so we will leave that comment as a unsubstantiated rumour then shall we
just trying to find out more info
I don't reveal my sources.
So you're saying this thing is definitely on then?
What I'm saying is, that the original thread was that how could a National body, the ARU, be in discussions with other National union's about a series of games with their member and NOT involve all their member unions.
As annoyed as I am about the whole thing (an Academy competition been mentioned in the media for more than half a year now, only for us to miss out) I'd still like to see the competition go ahead as we can't hope to enter one that doesn't exist.
As I mentioned earlier in the thread I just hope the Force Academy can make a statement on the field in February.
Oh come on Gerry, surely you should blurt out everything you and betray any confidence's you may have built up over the years, come on man what's wrong with you!!!
"Bloody oath we did!"
