Agreed James, he loves the Force alright...As they say in the classics, "the force is strong in this one"...

Deans and Mitchell take the Wallabies to the World Cup in N.Z. and win.
Would the Kiwi's ever get over that? Would be huge egg in the face![]()

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
watching this thread it seems we have a choice
The new Australian Coach is
A: a dictator - someone who is capable of creating a vision for the next 4 years and enforcing this vision (and corrosponding player development plan) on each of the 4 super 14 franchises and fickle Oz media.
B: Someone who can manage a selection committee comprised of Oz Media, ARU contracted players (aka players who may or may not be on form but have negotiated top contracts) and the Sub coaching committees.
I know this is a highly simplistic view of the role but that's how I see it - know that Robbie Deans has an excellent track record - but will he be able to work through all the interested parties concerns and unite everyone (especially JON to give his vision a chance to work) - if he can't then I would rather have Alan Jones because I know that he would enforce a vision - and that's what is needed at the moment VISION
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
Where does that prick Growden fit into this model?
I really like the idea of dusting off Allan Jones and let him come in and sweep out all the shit, like he has done before. He has also made choices others thought ludicrous, but paid huge dividends, for example, plucking a hooker from reserve grade "Southern Districts" rugby club in Sydney and making them a Wallaby, who went onto become our most capped and tough hooker ever,(i believe), ie Phil Kearns...
Jones knows what is needed, and he can get it...

In my opiniont TQ1 we need option 1 and get rid of all the crap!
But that's just my opinion.

Sir Clive Woodward with John Mitchell assisting would be a winning combination and would be very funny but I Know Sir Clive would never move here. He's a solid Englishman through and through, not one to turn against his country.![]()

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.
White in Wallabies running
October 31, 2007
SOUTH Africa's World Cup-winning coach Jake White has put his hand up for the vacant Wallabies coaching position, after declining a new deal with the Springboks.
White's management has been in contact with ARU high-performance manager Pat Howard about the Wallabies top job, although Howard says an explanation of the process is all that's happened to date.
With the World Cup and Tri-Nations titles to his name, White enters the mix with the most impressive record, but has plenty of competition.
Also in the running are Robbie Deans, David Nucifora, John Muggleton, Scott Johnson, Ewen McKenzie and Laurie Fisher.
The ARU is set to conduct formal interviews on the 9th of November, with a decision to be made by the end of the month.
"Remember lads, rugby is a team game; all 14 of you make sure you pass the ball to Giteau."
I like all the names on that list.......well the ones that aren't currently coaching actually IN Australia that is!

Robbie Deans has declared his hand for NZ, he wants the AB's coach spot sometime before 2011.
McKenzie shows limited vision as a coach - his game plan seems to revovle around NSW and buying ex-league players ... Been there, done that, didn't work.
Fisher needs a haircut and a new suit before any employer would take him seriously - hence Scott Johnsons tonsorial tidy up last year.
Of the two incumbants - maybe Johnson, but I suspect a clearing of the decks is on the cards. Alan Jones had some valid points about being over-staffed and over-coached.
For me, Nucifora is the only stand out along with J White (not sure how he'd be accepted), interested to find out why Pat Howard isn't putting his hat in the ring.
white looks like the favorite now. im still not sure who is the best person.
definatly not alan jones, like Muggleton said the game has changed. he has just put his hand up he wont get the job. he needs to get a job in s14 if he wants a shot at wallabies coach.
white better not come over here and use his player resting tatic.
i would pick fisher for wallabies coach out of the coaches left.
