Unbelievable videos but at the same time, if the refs want respect they have to give it - that second clip, the referee had no right to touch the player.
then again....if the kid was grabbing hold of another kids jatz crackers or poking him in the eye....then the ref did the right thing...
It happens in all sports!
This one is actually comical!![]()
Totally agree with the message from RugbyWA to encourage sportsmanship etc however I'm a little sad that such a message (and indeed a "Procedure"!!!) is required at all.
It is a pretty poor indictment on society if we need to be instructed on how to be a "good sport" and that the example hasn't already been set before the Junior starts their sporting career.
Re "HipHip" etc, personally both as a Captain and spectator I have always prefered the more individualized versions rather than the "Chip chip, whato, tally-ho to the front" standard version.
Unless totally knackered ours were more like "SCOTCH, THREE CHEERS FOR xxxx ... HEA...RAY!!!..HEA...RAY!!!..HEA...RAY!!!..
My team was left in no doubt that they were expected to respond to the call in full voice!
And, with no disrespect intended by it either Eckyback "in the day" we used to finish with "And one for the Ref...HEA...RAY!!!"
I think the best tradition of the lot though is the tunneling off by both teams, I hope that endures well into the future!
"Bloody oath we did!"
