PTI is a rip-off of an American Programme of the same name on ESPN.The people on the panel manage to have differing opioions on almost EVERYTHING. They basically spend most of the show sledging each other.Originally Posted by GiteauIsGunnaScoreTwenty
I haven't got ESPN anymore but It used to be totally dominated by Slammin' Sam Kekovich (a Melbourner AFL icon). Growden was probably just too s@hit scared to say the decision for Perth was right. Kekovich would've ripped right into him.
Anyone remember what his original position was re the 4th franchise?
For those who don't have fox, imagine a group of hens clucking non-stop and that's pretty much PTI.
That's what I wanna know, Sage. Have you suddenly started following Souths?Originally Posted by Sagerian

I swear that PTI piece of junk is staged - every point they do one guy takes one view and the other takes the opposing view, then they yell and go crazy at eachother. Times by 20 segments and you have the show, very little insight very little class, no wonder they asked Growden on.
You guys are lucky you live in WA. We have to put up with the wanker every day in NSW. He has not a clue about the game just writes rumours & politics which are mostly his limited imagination. in NSW we like Spiro, at least he understands the sport.

I found this while Googling around. It's an extract from a PM report on ABC Radio the day RugbyWA was awarded the franchise.
GREG GROWDEN: No surprises, but I think the Australian Rugby Union have taken the soft option and haven't had the guts to confront the AFL head on by taking it to Melbourne.
If rugby is to be a national sport in this country it's got to have an identity in the second biggest city in Australia, and that’s why they should have gone to Melbourne and confronted the AFL.
Typical. Just negatives, muck raking and name calling. Shoulda known. Why would Rugby want to "confront" the AFL in Melbourne anyway??
But I suppose it goes some way towards understanding why he's so anti. He's still running that agenda.
Well, we still have that problem over here with AFL, and we may not be the second biggest city, but we are definately the best...Melbourne sucks the big one imho, Sydneys awesome for a party,Brisvegas is OK and Adelaide quite...Oh, Canberra has soft laws on mary jane, not that i condone it, and porn, not that i condone it...So basically, what i am trying to say is that the 4th franchise went to the best city, so get over it growden, wanker...
Proudly bought to you by a brewery somewhere....
I think you need to get over to Melbourne again, it's an awesome city with always something on, esp sport!Originally Posted by frontrow
The pubs and clubs there are awesome and it seems you don't like Melbourne for some personal reason - you didn't really give a reason
I have not met a West Australian yet who doesn't like the city after having been over there..
Not that i'm saying rugby should have gone there, i'm stoked it went to Perth and I still agree that it was the better option anyway.

I think we all agree Growden is a plug.
I like Melbourne but it's bloody cold.![]()
Just happy to be here
I love Melbourne, too, but Perth is the place for the 4th franchise
I don't read Growden's dribble anymore, unless you guys are quoting him. He has nothing to say that I find educational, interesting, or entertaining.
