Tom Robertson and Sam Carter will be called in to the Wallabies squad for second test. Possibly because they are based in Perth? Surprised they didn't call in Swain with two locks out.

Yeah, very surprised Swain hasn't been included given the Williams and Frost likely won't be able to play with concussion protocols.
BPA should also be included, given how much our scrum seems to be struggling.

I was thinking on Saturday I'd like to see Robbo back in Wallabies discussion, he was cruelled by injury then a sabbatical.
Robbo, BPA, Swain, Carter, Tizzano, White, Donno, Stewart.

I'd happily see any/all involved on Saturday.

Williams if it wasnt HIA, Kuenzal if not for injury (Kellaway seems to have lost his mojo).

Carter being picked over Swain is massive. I know Swain has had temperament issues ion the past, but he appears to have been working on that and Carter, while he played a bunch of SR last year wouldn't be on my list of first picked due to age.

Carter and Robbo only picked to help with training, no realistic chance or expectation of being picked. (Not picked over Swain, in fact Canham joining and more likley chance to play)

BPA I believe also joining only from a training perspective.

That leaves Tizzano, White, Donno and Stewart with a chance of being picked as Williams will have a mandatory stand down for concussion.

I raised previously, given a loss in Brisbane (now happened), I'd be picking a defence orientated team now and for me that brings Stewart into #12.
Maybe try Paisami at #13 if he "has to be picked".
With Stewart at #12 then makes a strong argument for familiarity, which makes #9 White #10 Donaldson the pairing inside of him.

I can't see any disadvantage with completely wiping the inside backs and trying something else. sure there's the continuity argument, but you also don't want to have a continuity of being belted every match.

Personally I don't see Paisami bringing anything above Test average to #12 defensively, while he does have some bonus points in attack... but need to have the ball and scoreline before worrying about attack.

#12 Stewart #13 Flook might be worth a look.

Springboks ring changes for second Wallabies clash

South Africa have made 10 changes to their starting line-up for Saturday's Rugby Championship Test with Australia in Perth, including first starts for scrumhalf Morne van den Berg and lock Ruan Nortje.

The world champion Springboks were comprehensive 33-7 winners in their tournament opener against the Wallabies in Brisbane last weekend and have rested several of their established names as coach Rassie Erasmus gives further experience to his wider group.

Aphelele Fassi comes in at fullback, part of a back three that also includes Cheslin Kolbe and Makazole Mapimpi.

Jesse Kriel keeps his place at outside centre and will partner Lukhanyo Am, who gets a rare run in the No.12 jersey.

Young flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, 22, retains his place after an impressive display and there will be a first start for Van den Berg at scrumhalf.

Props Thomas du Toit and Jan-Hendrik Wessels are either side of hooker Johan Grobbelaar in an all-new front row, while there is also a new lock pairing in captain Salmaan Moerat and Nortje.

Elrigh Louw stays at No.8, with Pieter-Steph du Toit shifting from lock back to his more familiar flanker position and Marco van Staden completing the back row.

"We made it clear from the outset this season that one of our main goals is to build squad depth with an eye on the next Rugby World Cup here in Australia, and we feel there is no better way to test some of the younger players and assess where we are as a group against a top-tier nation, especially away from home," Erasmus said.

“All of the younger players made a strong impression against Portugal and in the other Tests in which they received an opportunity to showcase their skills, and we believe that their hunger to play, combined with their individual skills will be a fantastic driving force for them to build on the result in Brisbane.

“We have a big squad, and it’s important to balance some players’ workload while at the same time bringing a few young players into the mix, and this squad allows us to do both."

There is plenty of experience on the bench, including two flyhalves in Manie Libbok and Handre Pollard in a 5-3 split between forwards and backs.
