Wallabies v South Africa Sat 17/8/24

Tom Robertson and Sam Carter will be called in to the Wallabies squad for second test. Possibly because they are based in Perth? Surprised they didn't call in Swain with two locks out.

Force-based Test forwards Tom Robertson and Sam Carter will also join the Wallabies to add some extra resources following a physical battle where Schmidt’s young side was second-best in every area against the back-to-back world champions.

Yeah, very surprised Swain hasn't been included given the Williams and Frost likely won't be able to play with concussion protocols.
BPA should also be included, given how much our scrum seems to be struggling.

I was thinking on Saturday I'd like to see Robbo back in Wallabies discussion, he was cruelled by injury then a sabbatical.
Robbo, BPA, Swain, Carter, Tizzano, White, Donno, Stewart.

I'd happily see any/all involved on Saturday.

Williams if it wasnt HIA, Kuenzal if not for injury (Kellaway seems to have lost his mojo).

Carter being picked over Swain is massive. I know Swain has had temperament issues ion the past, but he appears to have been working on that and Carter, while he played a bunch of SR last year wouldn't be on my list of first picked due to age.

Carter and Robbo only picked to help with training, no realistic chance or expectation of being picked. (Not picked over Swain, in fact Canham joining and more likley chance to play)

BPA I believe also joining only from a training perspective.

That leaves Tizzano, White, Donno and Stewart with a chance of being picked as Williams will have a mandatory stand down for concussion.

Yeah agreed, I think Robertson and Carter both picked for experienced player opposed training, you wouldn't fly them over.
However, as Hoskins found out, you never know...

I raised previously, given a loss in Brisbane (now happened), I'd be picking a defence orientated team now and for me that brings Stewart into #12.
Maybe try Paisami at #13 if he "has to be picked".
With Stewart at #12 then makes a strong argument for familiarity, which makes #9 White #10 Donaldson the pairing inside of him.
