Can’t wait for the ex Tahs player to make his debut.
Well at least that is what will by on the tongues of the east coast media. Great to see him get the nod, talk about a memorable debut against the world champs.
Generally speaking you aren’t learning much if your lips are moving!!!
Carlos played for the Turds so says Tim Whoreman!
Boks have totally out played a very small Wallabies squad. I know it’s not the answer but our boys look like boys playing against men. Even when we have the Force playing against the Kiwi teams we look small. We do need to start getting more of the larger guys to start playing rugby like it used to be. A game for all! We seem to have said small is better and faster but get them young and build the speed. IMO.
May the FORCE be with you!
Well, that was a shellacking.
Not entirely surprised, but would have liked it to be more of a competition. The offense was simply unimaginative and predictable.
For a team talking about running the bigger boks around, we just ran into them one out from the ruck. So not sure of the game plan. It looked like playing forwards rugby against a forwards team.
When we out on some width it was better. Hell even some ball out behind or some dummy runners.
The game plan, or the execution, or both was all wrong.
Carlos was ok in a smashed team, a turnover, some tackles, some ineffective runs a nice turnover and getting turned inside out. Not out of place in an outclassed team.
Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
I couldn't tell what happened with Williams, was it the tackle just before they dragged him?
I think Carlo did well considering, I noticed him trying to amp up the team. Even after his own turnover, he went around around slapping everyone else on the back. I'm glad he debuted and he looked like he was over joyed at getting there. The rest of the Wallabies looked like they were just going through their motions. I know Schmidt is still trying out players etc but we didn't look like we gelled at all. Noah and Wright, who even play together in Super, no talk/communication and run into each other.
Boks on the other hand, are a very oiled machine and looked like a team in every essence of the term.
South Africa as expected far too good for the Wallabies.
I think the showing was a lot worse than I expected, but hopefully next week will be an improvement.
More importantly lets focus on our boys.
Jeremy Williams:
A 12 minute appearance had little time to assert himself in a team already going backwards, and a concussion resulted in a limited appearance. With concussion protocols and having already suffered some early in our season unlikely to be back until the Argentina matches.
2 tackles 0 missed and 1 pass in his short stint.
Carlo Tizzano
His usual menacing self, he may be small but has the heart of a lion.
Played 75 minutes after going off for five minutes and then returning to the field with the Williams concussion.
Top tackler at 19 with 0 missed.
Turnover won 1
Passes 4
Carries 6
Meters gained 4
Average meters per carry 0.67
Did nothing wrong and deserves another shot this week.
Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
