You might be wide of the mark there. He's pretty knowledgeable about Rugby as is his brother & Freddy Fittler. His comments about Marky in the same program were very positive too.

My observation is he rates Union about equal to Queensland League...

Possibly. That's a little different to understanding the game. He has consulted for quite a lot of Rugby coaches - including working with Carter Gordon pre RWC (easy shot available there).
In his (and my) opinion converting to 5/8 in particular, his challenge will be gaining the aerobic capacity needed the with regularity of long periods of ball-in-pay.

Carter Gordon isn’t a rugby league player- Paul Cully.

Everything he’s done in his young career to date says that he’s a rugby player to his core, with long held dreams of taking on the British and Irish Lions next year in a series that many players hold in higher esteem than Rugby World Cups.

It really has taken an extraordinary coalition of the incompetents to deliver him to the Gold Coast Titans on a platter. Commentary this week about what damage his decision has caused to rugby are upside down: it’s the damage that rugby has done to Gordon that should be top of the agenda.
