Out of the lot, I think Amy Perrett has probably been the best this year. But as you say, the standard of officiating in Super Rugby AU has been pretty appalling - they just don't seem to have a feel for the game at all.
Looking forward to some NZ referees in the Trans-Tasman comp as they have seemed far better

Crikey - bagging the ref days before the match even kicks off! At least we can blame him if we lose and not consider how the team adapted to his refereeing, nor how they failed to counter the Brumbies' tactics.
And if we win it was despite the appalling refereeing.
Hey Ecky
I agree with you whole heartedly, we should not be trying to blame the ref before he/she has even blown the whistle to kick off the game. Like players and coaches, referees deserve respect as they have a tough job that I am sure many of us would not want to do.
That being said, like players and coaches, referees are not above criticism. The standard of officiating in Super Rugby AU has been poor this year across many games that I have watched (not just force games). I think the touch judges are as much to blame as the refs but that is a different conversation.
Maybe the solution to this conundrum is just as we compliment players and coaches after games where they have done well (by fans and the media alike), so referees should be complimented when they have good games.
So long as the Ref isn't bald
