"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
Curtin Air Base was a detention centre until about 2014. It would be in line with Christmas Island. Given the distance from town, it might also be easier to compartmentalise.
Last I heard it was being used by the US military so it might already be tied up.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Getting off on a bit of a tangent here people. Discussion might all be moot anyway with it looking increasingly likely that the Vics will have to go into another lockdown. The prime minister is supporting this, as he did with ours. The only state yet to shut them out is NSW. The people saying the WA lockdown was an overreaction might well be wishing the Mexican government had done the same. Wishing this thing away because people have already been through a lot is fraught with danger, as we've unfortunately seen overseas. The Rabble would probably need to go into isolation right now for Round 2 to be unaffected.

Melbourne in lock down!
May the FORCE be with you!
I assume Super Rugby doesn't count as essential travel?
Only for 5 days atm so hopefully ok for travel next weekend.
May the FORCE be with you!
Nope, our paradigm has always been 7 days of zero until they lift the complete lockdown, at day 7 you can travel in but you need to Hotel Quarantine, at day 14 you can travel and self-isolate and day 28 you don't need to isolate.
I don't believe anything Vic does to manage their outbreak has anything to do with that timeline.
C'mon the
Rebels have the bye next weekend so hopefully the lockdown won’t affect things too much.
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
I like your optimism Ali. The NSW authorities are chasing 7000 people - to self isolate for 14 days - who have recently arrived from "hot spots" in Vic. One of the infected people worked in a coffee shop at Tullamarine. Let's just pray that all of the circulating infected people are like our 1 and the first in Melbourne - not super spreaders.

Phew!! They've done it... and we're good to go.
Seven Storm players out of All Stars as COVID chaos hits multiple codes.
The NRL’s All Stars fixture in Townsville next week has been thrown into chaos by the COVID-19 outbreak in Melbourne, with seven Storm players, including Indigenous pin-up Josh Addo-Carr, officially ruled out due to border closures.
Less than an hour after Premier Daniel Andrews announced the latest lockdown would come into affect at midnight, Queensland pulled down the shutters to residents in the Greater Melbourne region. South Australia had previously closed their border..................................A 50-strong group of Melbourne Rebels made a dash to Canberra on Friday to establish a base for the upcoming Super Rugby season.
