Well, Palmyra played UWA in a pre-season match today in colts, 3rds/2nds and premier grade.
Not much can be taken out of a first informal encounter, but Palmyra went home the happier, winning colts 2 tries to one, 3/2 7 tries to one, and premier grade 8 tries to 2.
Both clubs had players missing, and will improve from the hit out. lineouts appear a concern for Palmyra at this early stage, and Uni have to improve their use of possession to convert it into points. Neither side appeared to have a systemic game plan, and possession was often wasted by overuse of kicking. That said, Palmyra's tackling was ferocious.
Uni have changed the alignment of their main field. Lets hope that is a temporary arrangement because if not it will detract hugely from the spectacle of the games at McGillivray.
Does anyone have any other weekend results? This site is the only means of supporters informing the rugby community of results of the pre-season, and unless information is provided, this source will wither and die.
Thanks for the report Fulvio.

I'm confused Fulvio..despite the off-field pandemonium you described earlier, Pally..miraculously turned out three teams? No wonder I never even made Under 14's team manager.
A magnanimous benefactor read my heart wrenching plea and donated $10,000,000 to the club to keep it afloat for the next 9 months.
Who knows what will happen after that.
Meanwhile orders have already been placed for 350 wide screen plasma TV's.
Even the juniors will receive one.
Do they even make Plasmas anymore?
