OK, cards on the table, it's a slow day at work and I'm sitting, bored, looking up stuff on the interwebs trying to keep myself awake.
Imagine my surprise when I came across this little gem
ahem, WHICH FREAKING CROSS-TASMAN DOMINANCE??????
Australian rugby teams a currently sitting on 1 win out of 7 in cross-conference matches. This "dominance" is 1 match in a row!
Sure they've had a couple of wins against the Sunwolves, but, since they are in the Australian conference they don't even count as a win vs an international team! certainly not "cross-tasman"
Moreover, what chance do you think the Rebels have of a win against the Highlanders? zero? can you measure probability as a negative? the Melbournian's pack is brittle, fragile, virtually doesn't even turn up at the stadium, they're no chance. and with the Brumbies on a bye and nobody in the Australian conference playing an in-conference derby, there is a very real chance that they'll be leaving the weekend with precisely zero wins.
I'm sure the paper-sellers in Sydney will spin the living shit out of the slightest single positive on the weekend (maybe Kurtley Beale will make a tackle, stranger things have happened)
that being said, I will have the Rebels' game on the box, in the hope of again seeing Deegan and Orr pitting their skills against Super Rugby quality opponents.
