This pretty much sums up the old adage about a team of champions v a champion team.
Great effort boys.

Big names fall heavily as a star-studded Canberra Vikings discovered, dumped 45-28 by Western Force in the National Rugby Championship clash at UWA Sports Park.
The ladder-leading Force faced their toughest test of the season against a Vikings side top heavy with five Wallabies and another 11 Super Rugby players.
But they were not impressed by names on paper and some of the Vikings big ones went missing, overshadowed by their Force counterparts.

Can't wait to hear the RA propaganda machine squawking about how unfair it is that the force have so many professional players and how unfair their life is

I smell a home semi and maybe a home final for the Force

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
Surprisingly the RA report includes this:
But they were no match for the Force, who not only played the smarter game but are showing the benefits of their cohesion through a season of Global Rapid Rugby.
Also have a look at the Force backline players from the weekend.

I watched the 2nd half on TV and the simple difference was the Force guys wanted it more than the Vikings or Brumbies. The Force yelling and shouting of encouragement was very noticeable. Canberra were walking in the last 10 minutes, when the Force were going flat out still.
It was a team of stars, up against a star team.
Hats of to the Force and their coaches, the did us proud.
Make that a team of stars in a star team![]()
