i thought one of the reasons that western australia got the team (other then the support we showed) was that the government promised to upgrade Members Equity Stadium to hold about 35,000 seats, improved corporate faciliyies, lighting etc. There was some talk the other week that the government may just throw some money into upgrading subi and using the left over cash to do the upgrade, is that to hopeful living in a state dominated by cross country basketball??
As I have said previously on other topics, will this new stadium ever happen??
I think the MES option had something to do with the soccer becoming an important ingredient which would have then resulted in the expansion to 35,000 odd spectators with the Force joing in.
Then, the soccer team here appears to have gone belly-up or close to it and all of a sudden MES isnt mentioned as an option too much anymore!
I think the rectangular stadium will be built at MES for 35,000.
The government promised a 22,000 seat stadium.Originally Posted by jargan83

Perhaps the Government might spend $100-million for a 35-thousand seat stadium at MESS.
Ready for 2009 season.
They have to start construction of the rectangular stadium, and the replacement/renovation of Subi pretty soon, so it's all looking good come next state election.
Decision time soon.
If I wasn't a has been, I could've been a never was.
would 35,000 be enough, weve had an average of about 30,000 at our home games, and perth is full of "bandwagon" supporters (eagles/dockers fans).
Once we start winning i reckon 40,000 would be at our games............... not that i care, i been there since day 1. But i'm gonna maintain we need a rectangular stadium..........subi both sucks and blows, your 50 million miles from the action, the facilities are shit and they stop serving beer 10 mins into the 2nd half!!
Rugby WA are looking for some feeback: http://www.rugbywa.com.au/membership...oll,51206.html

A big issue like this deserves the front page news hey Coach just in case anyone misses it in the thread, as there seems to be plenty with opinions on this site.

Great to see the Force are making this a big issue.
After the last few years of the only person caimpaigning and talking about it, its good to see the rest of the media and Rugby WA making it public!
If we continue to perform as we are doing, there are going to be plenty of 'bandwagon' supporters who jump in. At the moment we are averaging at about 30 000 per home game, with the 'bandwagon' supporters we will go past 35 000 maybe even hit 40 000. So ME will just not do.
We need a rectangular stadium. Plus the slide things on the side of that one look cool 8)
i'll say it again, it's not a bandwagon - it's a juggernaut![]()

as the rugbywa/western force motto was before................... "get on board or get out of the way"
Ok, remind me how juggernaut comes into this in anyway?Originally Posted by Coach
