Are you privy to secret information that a decision to use the Western Force name for the NRC has already been made?
Does the thread title suggest the IPRC is not happening or does this thread specifically deal with the NRC?
Ham sandwich?
1. Dunno, but I reckon this quote from today's West is a hint:
Springbok fly-half Grant and outside back Brache, who was in the US side that beat Argentina in the Americas Rugby Championship at the weekend, will lead the new Force into the National Rugby Championship.
Personally, I don't mind the NRC team being renamed the Force.
2. Hopefully the latter.
3. Yeah. Dijon mustard, please.
No I am not privy, but as Kiap indicates, the story seems to indicate that Force will be used.
Please be patient with the IPRC, can we not just be happy that we are at least moving forward with NRC for now. All good things come to those who wait.
Do they really need our approval, did we approve the name back in 2005? It is a name FFS, a name that everyone knows here and abroad. Ask anyone in Perth who is not a stuck on supporter like us about The Spirit and they have no idea. I certainly prefer Force over Spirit, not to mention back to blue instead of gold and black (but that is another discussion) so I don't know if I am a minority or where you get the majority you speak of from.
As I have also indicated on TWF before, my understanding is that
Western Force = NRC
Perth Force = IPRC (all teams to have a city identity)
I also don't really want to clog up this thread with opinions about names. It's so we can see who is in the team.

Well I'd like to put in my 2 cents if that's OK.....we sure are running low on things to argue about around here......Used to be stuff like whether Rona was a better 12 than a 14. Or Ruru over Louwrens....I blame Rat's Arse.
Sorry TIF.![]()
Good news at last!
Pretty sure I had read about IPRC being city based, plus the IP for Perth Force was registered when the IRPC was first announced. A liitle birdie gave me the inside on that
On the NRC I again am sure I read about that when we were told we had been given back that IP, weather or not that has officially happened I am not sure, but the story today seems to indicate that is the case.

Pretty sure that Hansie said the name will be discussed in a public meeting.
