RugbyWA is going into voluntary administration after the state's rugby body said it cannot afford to pay legal costs being sought over two failed legal attempts to save the Western Force.
The development comes after the Force was cut from the Super Rugby competition earlier this year.
RugbyWA took legal action to try to save the team, but was ultimately unsuccessful.
President Hans Sauer said the ARU had pursued the organisation for costs.
"The amount of money that they are chasing us for is such that we just don't have the resources," he said.
"We've made an offer and it was actually very generous.
"They rejected that, they want every single cent, every drop of blood they can get from us."

Oh gosh what does that mean hopefully that the ARU get not a cent
Clever move!
May they all burn slowly in hell.
After all the shonky dealings and $millions they’ve shovelled into the pockets of Cox, Gray, Clarke et al, this is nothing short of despicable.
Hans and John - we must secede from the ARU and pursue attaching ourselves to another country’s union. I can’t stand to be associated with Eastern Australian rugby for one more day.

If they’ve gone into VA, doesn’t that mean the creditors have the final say as to whether the company can continue?
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
What happened to Twiggy saying he will support them and do everything he can to keep rugby in WA alive , was he just bandstanding or does e now know that the RugbyWA board screwed up along the way ?
They obviously thought Twiggy would stump up the cash, this calls their bluff! Personally I’m glad they can be cut loose from the stink. A new fresh WA Union! Perhaps the costs can be repaid at $1 a week?
I'm sure this has been well thought through by all parties, including IPRU.
An international PR disaster for Rugby (East) Australia
Not $1 per week...just $1
I imagine that RugbyWA has similar assets and cash as say VRU![]()

Given the treatment of the Force and rugby in WA since 2006, and the reveals of the senate enquiry, this is actually the best outcome for both WA and rugby administration in Australia.
Well done RatsArse, after shooting yourselves in both feet you have now right royally screwed the pooch

Ill wait for a statement by John or Hansie but im assuming there is some method behind the madness. Or this is exactly as it looks, a petty revenge stunt by RA for the Senate Inquiry. Im assuming the debts currently being accrued by the Reds and Rebels will also be pursued heavily and RA will look into recouping the 10s of millions loaned to the Rebels that sent them broke in the first place.
Funny thing is, this probably isn't anywhere near as low as RA will stoop in their destruction of WA rugby.
