I guess in some ways what this senate inquiry has taught us is that not only is their a huge disconect between the people at the top running Australian rugby and the average fan, but also that there is a huge disconnect between the different fan bases, which are effectively the "haves" and the "have nots" effectively a two class system. We all know how destructive and divisive that has been for the game. It is truely one of the reasons rugby is dying, what ever happened to getting a "fair go"? I thought it was Australian to do so, it certainly hasnt happened with the Force, but its accepted by the east coast as just sour grapes?!? it seems the powers who run the sport are more interested in lining their pockets than protecting and nurturing our sport. Retraction and implosion seems to be their strategic plan. The darkest ever era in Australian rugby has only just really started...
There's been a disconnect for a long long time. The ACTRU was formed to breakaway from the NSWRU as previously the ACT fell under NSW Country. NSW and Qld always thumbed their noses at the ACT sides when they played each other. It got worse when the ACT gave NSW a proper hiding 44-23 in the mid 90s.but also that there is a huge disconnect between the different fan bases, which are effectively the "haves" and the "have nots" effectively a two class system.
The ACT's 75 year anniversary video gives you a good idea of how much animosity there is between the ACT and NSW when it comes to Rugby https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6e-SejwHNc Geoff Didier says it best 'it appears that there isn't much hatred anymore from the Brumbies players towards the Waratahs, like most old boys I hope that isn't the case as we still hate them.'
This is before we discuss the hatred between NSW and Qld then the internal rivalry within NSW between the Sydney Rugby Union who had their own rep side, NSWCRU and the Suburban Rugby Union.

The ACT production line of Caputo, Roff, Kafer, Gregan, Matt O'Connor and later on Larkham broke the mound and shook up Wallaby selection as it was very difficult to make the Wallabies from outside of NSW and Qld. Joe Roff hit it best when he said previously ACT players moved to Sydney or Brisbane to further their careers. Matt Pini and Campo are good examples of this.
There was a fellow called Steve Merrick who played for the Wallabies in 1996 replacing Gregan. He was probably the last Wallaby to be capped while still affiliated to a country based club (Singleton). His career ended as he didn't want to move to Sydney.
The fact that John Welborn was offered work with Twiggy in Sydney to be able to move for his Rugby highlights how hard it was for Perth players to get recognised back then. The ARU is willing to entertain the thought of bringing back those dark days is a good enough reason to give them the boot.

There are posters currently based in Sydney who can answer that as I am not sure of the current status quo.

Shame him. Post it! For the sake of Transparency
I don't think you are under any obligation to keep an email received from another poster on a site private. It's not as if you are a journalist who has agreed to go 'off the record'. If the email shows them to be attempting to bully you into preventing you posting, you should have every right to either report them to the site mods or re-post the email in the public areas to show what they are trying to do.
