AS long as the competition is even, and the games are open, innovative and exciting, this league can work.

Japan and the Pacific Islands for Aussie Super 9's!
Let's have one of these in WA! Click this link: Saitama Super Arena - New Perth Stadium?
What the east forgets is that wa through Twiggy is initiating this competition, but there are plenty of other overseas investors that Twiggy can call on to make this a healthy and cashed up competition. There will always be teething problems in the first few seasons, but with the money that is in this region and the ability of these owners to splash money at top line players and coaches I can see it being a more competitive comp than the East gives it credit to be. The crucial thing is to ensure a develop program is invested in each region to grow local talent as well. So big money will be needed to invest in top line players for instant competitiveness as well as consistent investment into future development of local talent in all regions.
The big question is can the cashed up supporters like the Chinese version of Twiggy sustain this will as well as investment into this type of completion- I hope and trust that they can!
I say they can as Twiggy received a 222 million dollar dividend from his company a few months back. He got enough out of that to pay the bulk of the current Sanzaar tv deal.

I see the ARU have blocked the Vikings from wearing the Canberra Kookaburra's jersey against the Spirit today because it clashes against both Perth Spirit jerseys.

I totally agree with your first point. I hate to use cricket's Indian Premier League as an example but it's a handy comparison - we see the huge money imported players earn in the competition but they are limited to a certain number in each squad, with there also being a significant local requirement and, I think, a young player requirement. The balance we had at the Force this year seemed to work - maybe roll that out across the teams?
With regards to your second point, Jack Ma's in rugby for the next 10 years. He is putting $100 million into mainland Chinese rugby with the goal of developing 1 million rugby players. I'd like to think that Forrest has contacted him and that Ma would see the IPRC as being complementary to his goals. I'm sure Alibaba has some broadcasters under its umbrella.
There is big interest in the game in SL. They have been put in the too hard basket for so long. Mainly due to money. The IRB would rather target places like Germany and US due to coin.

Twiggy needs to get hold of Denis O'Brien the owner of Digicel and Independent News and Media. The news company own the Irish Independent who sponsor Munster Rugby and there are suggestions that he got Sexton back to Ireland. He will provide media exposure in Europe and Digicel has sponsored sport in Asia-Pacific.

Interesting that the “IPRU” was mentioned! Doesn’t that mean no FUARU?
May the FORCE be with you!
