....... but will be bloody furious if they do. Forget that, whatever comes after furious, ropable maybe.[/QUOTE]
Hulk smash??? 😜
It's quite amazing and a genuine coincidence that the Rebels management just happened to keep a whole lot of slots free on their roster, don't you think?
Got annoyed when Reynolds didn't attack de Clyne when he gave his nonsense answer regarding all sides do it. The Brumbies have made it known for months that there are around two spots for backs left and the other two sides Waratahs and Reds have been quiet in terms of recruitment.
Then you have TWAS stating the salaries are paid by tv money everyone gets and his mate John who believes it is ok that tax payers are paying for the players

Feeling sad, hope that the Senate inquiry comes up with the goods!
HOOKER FOR HIRE: 78 Tests, unbreakable noggin, unwanted by Australian Super Rugby clubs. Please contact Tatafu Polota-Nau.
The top-rated Wallabies hooker has been forced to look abroad for his lead-up to the 2019 Rugby World Cup because he’s received no offers from Australia’s four remaining Super Rugby sides.
Butting heads in his 79th Test scrum battle in Yokohama on Saturday afternoon may even be a taste of the future with the possibility of a link to a Japanese club for the 32-year-old warhorse.
Polota-Nau is in a bizarre situation after admitting he put “all my eggs in one basket” by backing the Western Force to survive and now dealing with Australia’s shrinking rugby landscape.
It seems crazy that he hasn’t been this secure as Australia’s starting hooker in six straight Tests since 2012 yet is unsure where he’ll be lacing on his boots next year.

Tats you are awesome and this is just another demonstration of the complete mismanagement by the ARU that the PREMIER hooker in Australia has to leave to keep playing. I thought shrinking the teams was supposed to strengthen Australian rugby explain that one away.
Generally speaking you aren’t learning much if your lips are moving!!!
It was never going to be that way, saw the same thing mentioned when the Racing 92 and Stade Francais merger was being discussed. An agreement was made between the clubs. It was along the similar lines of what is going to happen with the Rebels and Force. Racing were going to subsume Stade Francais over 60 players were going to fight for spots in one side if they haven't got a deal elsewhere this is before we talk about coaches and management who might push for redundancies. Stade Francais players went on strike and the fans rallied. Merger was killed in less than two weeks after it was agreed.
You might not know it, both clubs have kids playing for them from under 6s upwards and they have espoirs sides which is the equivalent of colts. Both clubs have also got tax payer funded stadiums. Racing are moving in to their new stadium in a couple of weeks.

Spot on Kev, guys like Sam Figg etc...That's two less places for developing Vic players that have their own dreams of reaching the pinnacle of professional rugby, along with the other franchises losing some of their fringe players that are forcing their way through the NRC and into contention for a full contract....
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
Under the terms of culling a club they can't pay the other franchises any more money..
1 ) they have promised the 6 millions in savings to grassroots rugby..
2 ) The ARU, RA , ESRU, AECRU or what the F they called have publicly put up a notice to the senate Inquiry that they are not funding any clubs..
3 ) To prop up any club would mean there was no need to cull a team as the same money is available for 4 as was for 5..
Also who is paying out all the contracts that the rest of the Western Force players are on??
Who is the Guardian of the Salary Cap? If its the ARU, who does the checks and balances? Is this something RUPA gets involved in? Read today Matt Phillip is in talks with Dave Wessels.....how much money does the MRRU club have?
Fucked if I know. They refused to punish the Tahs when it was clear they were breaching the cap.
What makes me angry is the Rebels are going to have around 8 to 10 locks if they sign Coleman and Philip which is almost a quarter of squad space taken up by the row. The Reds had to let go Simmons and the Brumbies Tom Staniforth because both sides didn't have enough space for their home grown talent in their respective squads for next season.
The MRRU don't have money of its own. The VRU are skint, whatever the Vic Government is paying as part of their package towards the Rebels won't last long and the ARU have said they are close to insolvent (oh wait). If the salaries are paid by the Victorian taxpayer I would expect them to run citizenship checks as that would rule out Mafi and Parling. By having two capped foreign players on their books they are also breaching the ARU's rules. Not that their mates in Moore Park give a damn.
Who is paying out Genia's contracts with Bath and Stade Francais?

With what money are the MRRU using because they have none of their own? Their lowly membership fees will barely cover the costs of administering that and paying the printing company.

Its been a hugely emotional few days/weeks (again) watching the Force team being dismantled but the ultimate cock up showing what a clusterf***k the ARU is at the moment comes with TPN not having a contract offer in Australia . Here is the BEST scrummager in Australia with a vast amount of experience having to leave the country to ply his trade . The loss to Australian Rugby is massive and the WHOLE board should be held accountable . Why was no effort made despite assurances that players would be taken care of ? . Players like Dane Coles and " The Beast "Tendai Mtawarira would never be left in this position by their Unions . The ARU Board should be forced to resign just on this alone (despite the rest of their incompetence ) . They definitely do not have rugby in their best interests . What a shame .
Than you have players like Chance Peni, Curtis Rona, Richard Hardwick, Vui, Richie Arnold, Kane Konteka, Ruru, Louwrens, Billy Meakes, Verity Am, Pek Cowen who are still in limbo. Ruru would give up his residency qualification if he went back to NZ.
This is before we discuss the future of Alex Newsome. I would like the Brumbies to offer him a one season deal to play Super Rugby and then go to play IPRC if it commences next year (similar to what Naisairani is on). I know it might be to the detriment of local players but it's for one year at the moment and others such as Andrew Smith will be off contract next year. He is already a proven Super Rugby player and shouldn't be left to wilt in club Rugby on limited income whereas the others are untested. They still might get their shot with injuries.
