Tone of the article seems to be that the Rebels seem to be a bit scared, the same day TWF put through that commentary from SANZAAR.

Interesting that ARU are going to just close the Rebels if the Force win.
Given that:
- It's August 3rd.
- RWA will appeal to the Supreme Court if they lose arbitration
- The ARU cannot currently obtain the licence to the rebels from imperium
- We generally have the next super rugby season's draw announced in the last weeks of September
I'm leaning towards the fact we have five Australian based teams next super rugby season.
There is no more time to confirm all the logistics. It has to be done very soon or the competition itself is potentially in jeopardy.
Or - is there a point where the sunwolves management starts to get worried?

Given the NZRU are blinded by dollar signs of the Japanese market I'd doubt it.
Hansie,
At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious, I take it the following has not only been conveyed to the legal team, but also the Arbiter;
“SANZAAR is delighted that its major broadcast partners have after due consideration agreed to the restructured format within the existing broadcast agreements. Our broadcast partners are an important stakeholder and their vision for Super Rugby moving forward is the same as ours.”
Loving the WA Gov and Twiggy's open letter to the ARU - keep applying the pressure and hold the ARU to account.
Without being a bigger ass than what I normally am.
With ARU being as retarded as us all after a force win and a few pints under our belly, why don't the force AND the rebels say "stick it up ya were both moving to the Japanese league ? Understand the travel and money situation but it can't be any worse than traveling to south Africa or Argentina... again just a thought
At the same time would love for twiggy to go all guns blazing bring down the ARU and then go stuff you were going elsewhere.
I'm not sure moving to a Japanese comp is a great solution Benny, we'd incur heavy travel costs and I'm not convinced the rugby would be as good, nor would shouting from the rooftops our willingness to suddenly roll over and give the ARU an easy out.
Force them into 5 teams and get the board sacked, that's the best outcome Aussie rugby could hope for.
Wayne Smith has written that stookie has been ejected from board meetings because of his bias over this issue. That's how stupid this is getting. Aussie rugby needs to be fixed
C'mon the
Good one BnB 👏🏼👏🏼
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
I am more of the opinion that the ARU does have a simple way out - wasn't one of the key intentions of axing the two Saffa teams to consolidate talent in the remaining teams? This hasn't happened, they've simply transferred to another competition, arguably of similar status, so therefore the SA RU hasn't complied with SANZAAR's agreement either. In this case is the ARU still obliged to drop an Australian team?
I can assure you, our legal warriors have left no stone unturned.
I hope you like our letter to the ARU board. Essentially the big question relates to governance and how is it the Executive have misread, not been prepared, or misunderstood - not one but two major agreements between them and two separate parties. Without stating the bleeding obvious, the board have not managed the executive and therefore I wonder what role, if any are they playing in the welfare of our code and abiding by our constitution?
Can't find it n the rugby wa website under "news" or in my email
If someone has it could you please post it as a new thread, thanks
