Throw quick, straight 2-4 ball and we will win it!
Every forwards dream is to become a back...
Ahh!!! Sprung, Shaun is a Forward in Backs clothing after all![]()
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
Pretty scared of both to be honest Sage! i thought the scrum looked pretty shaky (and a big thanks to Frontrow for his analysisOriginally Posted by Sagerian

Bring back Darwin the set-piece doctor?!
PS I don't think Holmes made the trip for this week Burgs.
No way Burgs! I'm not thick! How dare you call me stupid?!?!?!![]()

You will be a forward one day Shaun. Gotta short out the lineout pronto otherwise it could be ugly night against the Bulls. If we win in Pretoria it will be some victory.
the punters friend..... stick with me and you will be wearing
I havnt seen the game as dont have Foxtel, that point in the right direction would be nice Coach. I can only go on the game at Sbi and I have to say the throwing was bad, allthough the not in straight calls were alittle harsh when the big wind was takien into account. Not that that is an excuse, the ball wasnt going to the right person anyway.
Canon has always been atrocious at line out throwing though, Im not holding my breath that will change in a week.
the line outs were that bad at times when the ball was thrown to the back of the line no one had a clue to the call never mind the ball being thrown in correct. a lot of the scrums were the fault of the ref allowing the illegal moves of the tighthead to go on with out warning or yellow card.
Agreed, as i have stated in another thread, the tighthead Stormers player was getting away with everything almost....The line outs are the area that most needs work though, as we can cope in the engine room, we won't be able to cope with no lineout ball though...Originally Posted by prop53

Yeah I stayed up to watch the game (after seeing Roger Waters live - that was really cool) and it really did suck to stay up till that time in the Mornign to miss a good 15 - 20 mins of the game.
I actually thought Sharpie had a pretty good game in fact I thought the forwards all put in a pretty good effort in what was pretty bad conditions. All the boys defence was obviously pretty good in not letting the line being crossed and most of the game and possesion was down in the opposition's half and in the Force's possession.
Cross showed he was starting to get into the grove more and a try will only boost his confidence, he was always looking to break the advatage line. Although I prefer Staniforth there more.
Henners and Gits worked really well together I think thats going to be a combination that will really ask a lot of questions in the comming games. Both players were always looking for options and kept changing their game.
Mitchell played a much better game at fullback and if you add in the weather he was very dependable back there and took a couple of great catches and was threatening with ball return - a good turn of pace and foot work to get out of a couple of tricky ones.
The Line out throw's were off the mark but I thought they got worse with Tai (although I was stuck with watching the history of the Manley Footy club for a fair bit of the 2nd half), but Rudi stole a few balls and the Force seemed very competitive on the opposition's throw.
Hopefully the backline will grow more comfotable with each other and the calls consistency is probably what they need now...
I really hope they can improve by the weekend and give the Bulls a real run for thier money...
