Well done Alison! I've been watching the comments flow in and two things stand out..
1 No one has disputed your figures
2 No Rebels supporters have come out firing either
So I think you must have nailed your research. Regardless, it shows that the ARU is either terribly bad at accounting or is trying to obfuscate their real agenda.
Now it needs to be taken up by the main stream media and discussed at the EGM tomorrow!
Hey Hansie... do you think that Alan jones could discuss this tomorrow as this is right up his alley. That is if someone could bring it to his attention.
The Roar declined to post it Shasta. Partly because it had already appeared on GnGR and partly because they and others couldn't check my facts and figures as the accounts are behind a paywall on the ASIC website and I didn't feel comfortable circumventing that by allowing the Roar to post each set of accounts with the article. Don't think the ARU would have been happy about that either tbh.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments and for your support throughout the 'gestation' period.
I tried to pitch it so as to lay the blame squarely at the ARU's door rather than make it sound like a Force fan 'death-riding' the Rebels but, as Shasta said, facts are facts and there is no hiding from the naked truth that the ARU has paid a very heavy price to maintain a SuperRugby presence in Melbourne. It's my view that the game as a whole has suffered as a consequence, and we should all be bloody cross about that, whichever team we support!

A good read by Peter Fitz,

What???? Pocock is being PAID to have this year off?
Not inaccurate though. But I completely agree with both teams refusal to just die quietly
Also Robinson suggesting that proved what business she has reporting on rugby. Given the amount of private investment in rugby and the numbers of people employed by a rugby organisation, She has no idea how big the 'team' actually is.
That link to the idiot's - i mean petey's article seems to be dead now as well. - did he slide in more of his neverending crap about the republic movement and SMH slapped it down?
Alison, you're a legend!
Has Wayne Smith acknowledged he's read it yet?
