On page 62 of The West Australian, Thursday 30 March 2017.
Premier Mark McGowan has written to ARU chairman Cameron Clyne yesterday:
"I write to confirm the State Government's support for the Western Force.".
The Premier has reminded the ARU of the substantial capital investment in the code made by the State Government.
The Minister for Sport and Recreation Mick Murray said
"... the State Government is prepared to support Rugby WA in the enforcement of any rights ...".
It is not clear what rights or remedies are available to Rugby WA in the alliance agreement with the ARU.
I see FMG have extended their sponsorship of jersey #7 for 2 more years.

Just had a survey back from ARU re did we answer your question etc. said not really and it's time the ARU stood up and grew some as per Kearnsy!

"Dear ARU,
I, like many other Rugby fans in Western Australia was very upset by the apparent lack of action taken in response to a media report last week when confronted by an apparently unsubstantiated rumour from the Daily Telegraph, indicating that the Western Force would be cut from the Super Rugby Competition in 2018, which has since become a tsunami of negative reporting.
Your Media response denying that a decision has been made has done little to encourage me.
I wish to advise you that, if the ARU take the ill-advised step in downsizing the Super Rugby Franchises in Australia and cut the Western Force, I, along with many others, will choose to completely disassociate myself with the entire sport.
Rugby WA has a vested interest in the continued success of the Grand sport of Rugby Union in all its forms in Australia, by destroying the pathway for many of our best players in WA, you are simply doing yourselves a disservice and contributing to the demise of Rugby union in Australia as a whole.
I would like to see the ARU use its power of Veto to ensure that NO Australian team is cut from the Competition, particularly as this decision could have huge financial implications and impact on Players, their families and Fans that have strived to develop the game in their state and are now sitting in limbo unsure of they will have a future in the game at this level or not.
yours.

There's another petition by RUPA for keeping of all 5 teams

I've been slowly introducing my grandson to this fantastic game and, now he's got his membership, he's always on my case about when the first game is - thanks to the Bieber bullshit he missed the actual first match, being a Thursday. I am actually feeling a little uneasy about the whole thing now. Is he going to enjoy the experience so much that he is a rabid Force from then on - only to have his team kicked out of the comp? That is bugging me more than anything else - for all WA Rugby kids.
