A couple who claim they heard the tryst told stuff.co.nz they heard noises coming from the disabled cubicle inside Christchurch airport as they waited outside.
They claimed Smith and the unknown woman entered the toilet within 30 seconds of each other.

It’s been claimed the pair were inside the bathroom for about ten minutes before Smith was seen adjusting his clothing.
The couple filmed the pair on camera, claiming the incident happened last month.
Smith, 27, is dating Teagan Voykovich, 22, but the couple claimed the woman seen with him was not his girlfriend.
Prime Minister John Key has weighed in on the bathroom tryst and said Smith's actions were not what society expected of a role model.

Smith is heading home from the team’s tour of South Africa after he was suspended following the incident.
The 27-year-old has been stood down for this weekend's test against the Springboks in Durban, after details emerged.
Coach Steve Hansen said Smith was spotted entering a toilet cubicle with a female friend at Christchurch Airport the day after the side beat South Africa 41-13 on September 17.
Hansen said Smith accepted his behaviour was not of All Blacks standard and the punishment for the breach of team standards was decided by team leaders.
It’s understood Smith had asked to leave the tour, a request backed by team management.
It is not the first time Smith has courted controversy.
In 2012 he was benched for a Test against South Africa in Dunedin for breaking a team curfew and two years a later a naked selfie of him was posted online.
NZ Rugby boss Steve Tew said Smith would face a misconduct hearing in New Zealand.
"This was really bad decision-making by Aaron which reflects poorly on him, and on the team."
It's the latest incident NZ Rugby has had to deal with in recent times after a stripper scandal at a Chiefs end-of-season party and an assault case involving Wellington Lions player Losi Filipo.
"We are taking action to improve the culture of our game and are about to embark on an independent review of respect and responsibility in our professional player environment," Tew said.

I like the way the AB's come down hard on anyone who steps out of line.
Enforces the no-dickheads rule & sends a message!
Great game, Fucken battled right through to the 80!
Yeah it should.
However, I don't think any player / team member should have their punishment downgraded due to the inability of his understudy. There's always someone there to step in. And if the team lose because of that, then hopefully the misdemeanour weighs even heavier on the guilty party.

A one match ban is punishment? I thought their response was soft. If it happened to a Wallaby I'd expect a minimum of three.
I think that Wallabies players generalky have much better off field behaviour than ABs.
were you being ironic?
Let's not judge him until we see an image of the bird. If she's unattractive then he should be disciplined.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
